Rafikov again. He has played great against Canada in back to back games in WJC camp. If he ever comes over to NA he could be a factor going forward.

Rafikov. He could possibly become yet another late gem. Management has been drafting well. My next vote will be BVB, I really liked what I saw from him in those last stretch of games.

Van Brabant agian. He played solid hockey in his 6 game NHL stint. He is in NA already and has suited up for the Flames.

Would have voted Rafikov much sooner, but I'm just not sure he ever comes to North America. Like Billins, hard to rank a prospect that isn't likely to play in North America any time soon.

He indicated a willingness to play junior hockey in Canada but no team drafted him. I liked his sound positioning, good skating and crisp passing against Canada.

Roy again. Though Rafikov is a close second.

went with roy again. Rafikov may be good but am curious what the strategy will be to get him to NA will be. Am curious if he would be willing to come in a few years knowing he might be riding in the bus in the AHL for at least a while to adjust....

Gotta go with the Russian Rushan.
Is he AHL eligible next season or in 2015-16?

I went with Roy myself too.
For Rafikov, I'd bring him over as soon as he's ready for the AHL, probably the next season (15/16) before he gets established in the KHL so he doesn't need to take a salary and ego cut.

Rushan, Roy has too many defensive problems.

I'm pretty confident that Rafikov will come over at least, if not stick. He was willing to come over to the CHL, wanted to fly here just to attend the development camp. Tells me that he's already accepted there's going to be an adjustment period between playing in Europe vs North America, let alone the AHL to the NHL, and is doing his best to do that as early as he can.

I liked the story about when he was drafted and he was surprised. He then said he was going to start improving his English immediately. I think that suggests he is willing to give North America a shot.

How could you possible know this?! Last time I checked, unless your in the middle of nowhere Russia, its impossible to scout Rushan on a regular basis. You literally have no idea and just made that up.

Me too. Roy has put up some good point percentages in his junior career and has since improved significantly since his down year (draft year). He looked good in training camp last year and has the size, skill, and skating to be a coaching favorite and skill in modern NHL. His D game has come along but still needs more physical elements, but he can jump into the rush with the best of him.
He's my darkhorse come training camp. His size might put him over the top

He's been playing vs Canada the last two nights eating up a lot of minutes and looked impressive, don't get your underwear in a bunch.

I wouldn't say his stock has fallen because of something he's done, just that the Flames have more valuable players then before. A lot of prospects have stepped up and are producing more. Cundari is still a good prospect but because others have improved more than he has, he's lower on their depth (according to CP). This is a good thing, the Flames actually seem to have a lot of good prospects.

^ I second that. We just have a lot of prospects that have improved over Cundari. Cundari didn't regress or improve, he stayed the same. Hopefully we use him as the 7th defenseman, I liked what I saw last year.

Seconded - I won't be surprised if a motivated and more fit Cundari strong-arms his way into getting a spot as the #6/7 guy. I think the call up late last year was a good reassurance for his confidence.
