I went Wotherspoon, and it's the first time I had to hum and haw before voting. Jankowski, Klimchuk, Sieloff and Wotherspoon were my mix ...
I like the trajectory of Wotherspoon becoming an impact player in Calgary right now, so not a slight to the other guys.
Mix of likely to succeed and likely to play an important role.

Jankowski for the reasons I voted him the last couple times. A high ceiling of a 1st line center with all the tools to reach it. Just needs to bring them together, bulk up and play up to his size.

Ditto on Jankowski - plus he is played with McKinnon in the red/white scrimmages so that must mean something

I voted Janko but really thought about picking Klimchuck. Janko has my vote for now due to his high ceiling but he needs to take a big step this year if he is going to stay in the flames top 5

Hardest vote so far.
Think you could honestly go with any of Sieloff, Wotherspoon, Knight, Poirier, Jankowski, Klimchuk, or Agostino at this spot and have an argument.
Went with Jankowski because while he might not be the most likely to reach his potential, if he can it would have the biggest impact on the franchise.

Maybe because Brent Sutter likes silly lines. Jokinen and Iginla all over again!

I picked Wotherspoon even though it was a close debate between Wotherspoon, Sieloff and Klimchuk. Wotherspoon is the one I can ensure will make onto the team as a 2/3 defensemen.

I said a couple weeks back that I felt Wotherspoon could be a guy that has a larger impact on this team long-term than perhaps we perceive. I think he realistically could be a top 4 guy, or even a top pairing guy if paired with the right type of #1 dman.
He just looks so poised whenever I see him. No panic in his game, just smart decisions.
Klimchuk and Jankowski were the other two I considered here.

I said Knight, but it was a toss up between him and Wotherspoon IMO.
Jankowski needs to have a good season in Provindence before he moves up into the top 5 in my mind.

Close between Wotherspoon and Seiloff for me. I picked Wotherspoon because he has a crap ton of big game experience and NHL size.

Jankowski - higher ceiling than the others and still nicely on track to get there.
(Though I agree that if he doesn't progress to the 0.75 - 0.8 PPG pace this year, that his status should and will take a set-back)

Sieloff for me. I think he's vastly underrated because he had one shortened season at junior. He's a poised defender already, has a bomb from the point, and can lay people out with the best of them without giving up position. Plus top notch character-he's got future captain written all over him.

Seiloff/Wotherspoon splitting the D vote allowing Janko to "pull a Stelmach" and go right up the middle.

I went with Poirier this round. Saw him a couple times in Gatineau last year (better value, better team and better arena location than the 67s).
He's probably the prospect I'm most excited about. Not nessasarily because he's the best player or has the most potential, but he is tremendously fun to watch. Good hands. Fastest player on the ice in games I saw in the Q. He may not have the beautiful stride of a guy like Lombardi, but it is just as effective.
He's also somewhat lucky in that he doesn't have the pressure of a guy like Baertschi or Monahan. He might be able to actually develop before the impatient turn on him.

Jankowski. Has the skill and size to be a number one center in the NHL. Just needs to continue his development.

It was between Wotherspoon and Janko. Went with Wotherspoon because i think he can be a #2 d-man. His progression since being drafted has been excellent.
Janko was close, but he is a long term project, thats still trying to find his way, not worthy of top 5 at the moment. He is going to have a bigger role this year in college and i could see him breaking out. Will not be surprised if we have this poll next year and Janko rises to top 2-3.

I suppose, if it were a D vs forward thing...
But it's not, so no.
