Summer Prospect Ranking Poll Round 11 Run Off
Just can't pick a winner with three guys within 3 percentage points. Hoping those that didn't pick one of the three make a difference.

Stuck with my Horak vote though people have me thinking Agostino more and more.

I went with Horak again. As for him being a prospect or not, he's never won a real spot with the Flames and he's still on an entry level contract. He's been playing as an injury replacement in his NHL games. I think he was replacing Moss in his first year.

I picked Granlund initially, but changed my vote to Horak this time as I feel like he's a better bet to be a full-time NHLer, though Granlund has a higher ceiling.

I don't see the upside in Horak. He thinks the game well, and it is his best asset, but the rest of his skills are average or below average. I don't see him being much more than a good 3rd/4th liner, a poor man's Bobby Holik. While neither Granlund or Agostino think the game as well as Horak, they have other skills that have top 6 upside.

More on Horak. There will be one, two or three spots open on the Flames forward lines this training camp. These should be at centre or 13th forward. Players competing for these spots will be Knight, Horak, Monahan, Reinhart, Street and Granlund. Knight and Monahan have already be voted in on this poll so I think the second guy (in my mind) likely to win a spot is Horak. If Knight, at a year older is considered a prospect, than Horak is too. Now if Horak had a spot secured like Brodie he wouldn't be a prospect but he hasn't, he's competing for a job along with 5 or so others.
I guess I should add Boumo to that list but he isn't necessarily a centre.

I could see Horak breaking out a bit next season ala Sven near the end. He was leading the AHL at one point last season in goals, but tailed of towards the end. It would be pretty neat if he could carry some of that skill over to the big league.

This isn't meant to derail the thread, but it seems weird to me that cundari is getting almost no love in the prospect polls but he solidly beat both Markus Granlund and Chris Breen in the elimination. Slight case of the hive mind from thread to thread?

I think that was a statistical aberration. His shooting % was in the mid to high 20's if memory serves.
I voted Horak in spite of this.

you just never know ...
thought we'd see a Horak/Agostino neck in neck with Granlund falling off.
Instead it's a lot of the other group backing Granlund

To be honest, I am not seeing what other people are in Agostino to have him warrant consideration this early.
