I voted Knight but Poirier's stock is rising.

This next group is pretty even: Reinhart, Knight, Klimchuk, Poirier, Agostino, Granlund. I like all those players for different reasons and I think they will all be in the NHL some day.
I went with Poirier because you can't teach speed like that. Plus he has great all around instincts and plays a good physical game. Needs to work on his finish, but I think he'll be an NHLer at some point.
I was very close to picking Granlund because of how much he's matured over the last year or two, and he has a very high quality NHL level shot.
Knight is a very good all around player, but I don't know how much offense he can add at the NHL level.
Reinhart may still be at the level of Knight if he continues his development.
Would like to see more of Agostino and Klimchuk, but I'm still excited about them as well.
Very solid depth group of prospects.

Went with Horak here. A lot of you are voting for Knight who projects to be a 3a/2b centre. Horak is already there and is the same age as Knight, so it's an easy choice for me. I think a lot of times we get too excited over the new guys while forgetting what we already have in the system.
Poirier and Klimchuk are very intriguing, however.

IMHO, Horak is a graduate like Brodie. I don't think he belongs in this poll.
That goes for Ramo and Berra as well since they've been playing in pro leagues for several years now.

I still like Reinhart over Knight. Knight is a year and a half older, so Reinhart has the development edge on him. I think he might be the better player with experience. The "new guy" card is playing out.

I vaguely recall, Weisbrod saying that Reinhart was the best prospect in the organization during Weisbrod's first development camp with the Flames
Now seven players into this and there are still 3 first round picks, a second round pick and Reinhart on the board, not to mention 'two of the best goalies outside the NHL'

Agreed. People seem to be thinking of Poirier and Klimchuk as 2nd and 3rd rounders respectively because they were our 2nd and 3rd round picks this year. But they were first rounders in one of the deepest drafts ever. There is a very good chance both of these guys are top 6 impact players.
Knight's upside is to be Manny Malholtra. Obviously to be a true cup contender you need a guy like that... but he is pretty meaningless if you don't have impact guys to play on the top 2 lines. I can't even imagine how hated Knight would be around here if Feaster had given up one of the first rounders for him this year.
I'm extremely happy we picked up Knight for next to nothing, and I think he could be a Flame regular for a long time starting this year, but if at least one of Poirer or Klimchuk don't greatly exceed his impact on the team this rebuild will take forever.

as many as 12 of the remaining names on the board could see time in the NHL this season, even if only for a cup of coffee

Horak is still on his ELC so i think he deserves to be on the list. I agree with Berra and Ramo.
I have no idea who to vote for.

I went for Klimchuk, though it is very level at this point IMO.
Klimchuk has a sweet release, I see top 6 scoring winger upside. Poirier, Agostino, Knight I would all say are lower ceiling, but more likely to make it than Klimchuk, but the ceiling I can see for Klimchuk is the 3rd guy on a top line - plays well with skilled players

Went with Poirier. Though Knight is easily the more ready prospect, I think both Klimchuk and Poirier have more 'worth' to the Flames at this point.

I'm amazed the top 8 prospects on our list might not even include 2 of this year's 1st rounders. Great depth.

Went with Knight because it just seems like he's more sure to hit.

Not to mention Max Reinhart and Roman Horak, two NHL guys.

Powerplay Quarterback

Lol at all the Knight votes. He's a 22 year old (who will be 23 before the season starts), 5th round pick in the 09 draft, who we just got for a 4th round pick in the 13 draft, and projects to be a 3rd line C in the NHL.
That's nice and all and I'm not trying to dump on him as i do like him as a prospect, but no GM in the league would trade Poirier or Klimchuk (or anyone else drafted in the 1st round this year) for him at this point.
