I accidentally ran round 17 twice, so deleted the second instance. The first had the required number of votes and a Brossoit win, the second had Arnold ahead with less votes.
So I graduated Brossoit and here we sit with Arnold's turn

I think that Kanzig's ceiling is easily higher than every other defenseman left on this list, and his potential in meeting that potential arguably makes him a much more valuable player down the road than virtually every player on the list.
I voted for Kanzig once again.

Yeah, shouldn't you have Brossoit as the 17th than with Arnold still to be voted.

now the real crapshoot begins.
i am going a bit "off the board" and voting Ferland. I know guys like bouma/breen/arnold are all possibilities here, but Ferland's size and skill potential make him an interesting prospect if he can make the leap to the pros. I think he's a long ways aways, but if he does pan out, could be a solid depth player with good size and physicality.

I've been voting Breen for several rounds... but Textcritic convinced me to switch to Kanzig. I had planned on voting for him next anyway.

My list of guys that I think will play 40 or more NHL games by the end of the 2014-15 season:
Baertschi
Monahan
Horak
Bouma
Knight
Cundari
Gaudreau
Rienhardt
Wootherpoon
Ramage
Billins
Breen
Arnold
Agostino
The 4-year college UFA really impacts Gaudreau, Arnold, Agosinto and even Jankowski ever being a Flame. These guys are all 1-2 years away to being able to choose their own team.... the one that fits their style... and gives them the bets chance to collect an NHL salary (like winning a lottery for the rest of us folks)
Corban Knight , I would guess, was a totally dedicated Panther right up to the point where he was NHL ready.

It's been amazing. Since I got drafted by the Panthers, it's been unbelievable how they've treated me. They're just a very classy organization and that starts with Mr. Tallon all the way through. I've actually gotten the chance to meet Mr. Tallon and Mr. Luce at camp in the summer and they were just great guys. I just really appreciated how they run their organization there; it's very straightforward and they do things the right way. I definitely feel very fortunate to be with this organization.

Breen again, even though it's obviously very close between Arnold, Bouma, Berra, etc.

I think both Agostino and Arnold getting that chance is a stretch, with all the other young forwards who are all but locks to be on the team.
But saying all 5 of those D men will play at least half the season if just crazy. Especially with Brodie, Gio, Wideman, and SOB all under 1way contract for that season already. And I don't think they will let Russell go without a fight, and Seiloff probably stands as good if not a better chance of making that teams then most of those guys.
Don't go all Edmonton on us.

If that is the case hello Reinhart/Ekblad, McDavid and likely whoever is the top prospect in the 2016 draft.
The list of guys that would play 40 games or more by the 2014-15 on a decent (not even great NHL team) Monahan and Baertschi.

I was not clear that this was my list of the guys with potential of playing 40 games. The odds go down as you go down the list...
Baertschi would be 99 % (injury)
Not all of the D will play the 40 games over the next 2 years but almost certainly 1 will. ... most likely Cundari.
Sieloff will be playing junior 2013-14 and for him to play in 40 NHL games as a 1st year pro would be amazing.

Picked Breen as I think he's close to making the jump to the big club. Arnold is a close second.

I have Culkin as the next best prospect. Looks like I will have to wait at least one more round though as this appears to be Arnolds round. I have no issues with that. Arnold is a solid prospect.
