chose Knight this time, but very difficult decision, with Horak, Klimchuk, Poirier and Sieloff all deserving too. It's extremely close between 5 and 15 in my opinion.

Tough decision. This is where i would have put Janko, but he is off the board. It's between Sieloff, who i think will be a great #3 d-man, Horak could be a good 2b/3a player and same with Knight. Don't know enough about Poirier and i have no idea where i would rank him. Klimchuk is going to be a NHL player, but i am not sure if he is a 2nd liner or a 3rd liner. Aslo like Culkin who could be Brodie 2.0. Going to read what some posters think and gather info before making my decision. Hoping someone has a legit nugget of info to sway one of those players to the top.

Just a bit curious on your train of thought with Jankowski. I don't have an issue if you think he's the 7th best prospect but that should mean you have 6 prospects ahead of him making this an easy decision for you seeing as there's 5 prospects (excluding Jankowski) picked.

Knight. Flip flopped between him and Wotherspoon in the last two rounds, and so he's the guy this time.

I've said Sieloff for 2 rounds, so I will continue until he's off the board. He may play as soon as this year.

tough call. I voted Seiloff last round, and i know it doesn't make sense, but have decided to pick one of our other first rounders from this season at this spot.
Going with Poirier. Sounds like he impressed during yesterdays' WJC matchup also, which is good to hear.
It's so funny that just a few years ago the likes of Nemisz, Wahl, Howse were all in the flames top 5 prospects. Very welcomed change. Well done feaster.

Hard decision, but I picked Poirier. My thinking is that Knight probably tops out as a good 3rd line center and Sieloff as a #4 guy on defense. Poirier has the potential to be a great 2nd liner.

Still going with Poirier. I believe he's going to be a consistent 50 point player in the NHL, and I don't think you can say that for any other guys still on the board (perhaps Klimchuk, but he hasn't convinced me yet).
I'm of the opinion as well that Ramo shouldn't be a choice, I'm pretty certain he isn't even eligible for the Calder anymore.

Tough to choose between Klimchuck and Poirier but went with Klimchuck. I think he will be a top 6 forward when he hits his prime. Poirier might be as well but I also see him being a 3rd line agitator potentially as well

I had a heck of a time with this one ... went with Klimchuk in the end but it was a tough call.
I like Knight, I like Sieloff, but I think both will be bottom half of the roster players when they develop. Teams need those and I'm glad the Flames have both of them, but I really took that "are we under valuing the later two first round picks this year" comment from yesterday.
Klimchuk based on his attitude, the fact that he does the little things well, and that he projects to be a top six.

I had voted Wotherspoon since round 3. Was going to vote for Poirier but both Knight and Sieloff have risen considerably after how much love they received from other posters which caused me to do some more digging (as much as you can on the internet anyways).
So now I'm torn between Poirier, Knight and Sieloff. I think Poirier is being discounted because he was the Flames second pick in the 1st round (if he was the only pick this past year, I think people would be more jazzed) and I really like his development curve and style of play. Knight is way better of a prospect than I originally thought - I had him as your run of the mill college grad with a little more upside. Until a couple days ago, I really underrated him. Sieloff's game, IMO, is a little behind Wotherspoon but I think they have very similar upsides (top 4) and similar likelihood of being a regular for the Flames in the next 2-3 years.

Umm, that would mean it would have been an even easier decision for you if you thought it was only round 6....

I went Sieloff. I couldn't disagree with anyone saying Poirier or Klimchuk afterall they were 1st rounders in a deep draft, or Knight for being possibly NHL ready with a nice skillset for a third line center already but I just haven't seen them enough to pass judgement

This is where it gets tough because you have to compare apples to oranges.
Knight is a solid prospect with lots of tools and is NHL ready. But his upside probably isn't as high as some.
Sieloff is close and has a great attitude and brings an element that the Flames need.
Poirier and Klimchuk have plenty of potential but are a little more green.
Reinhart has talent and is close but maybe a bit more uncertainty.
Comes down to how you weight potential vs readiness vs needs
I went with Sieloff because he is my kind of player and I have a good feeling about how he will turn out

Yeah, even though I went Sieloff I agree with this post. Poirier and Klimchuk are talented players from a talented draft and yet 3 players from the previous draft are possibly going to be picked before either of them.
I mean I'm not complaining that they will be fighting to be picked in the top 10, it just shows our prospect pools depth now, but I have a feeling in a year or two this list might be mocked for having them so low. Again though, I have a feeling voters like me just haven't seen enough of them to pick them over players we've had a year to watch and evaluate.
