AOM for the win! Good sized stay at home defender with a bit of a rough edge. Already plays pretty well in his own zone, just has to work on decision making and mobility. Could be a legitimate NHL prospect.

Time for a Hickey. He puts the "I" in hockey. Sorry, late night.
It came between him and Mattsson for me. Left the decision up to the Flames scouting staff.

What a dramatic change has taken place in the Flames prospect organization.
Hankowski was ranked the 24th best Flames prospect last year based on his 5 NHL games. In his first pro season he put up 31 pts in 55 AHL games and played 11 games in the NHL. He will be ranked in the same range as last years #24
Not bad when you match him up to similar style/type Flames prospects in the recent past: Chucko and Nemisz.
Chucko's best pro season was in 2008-09 where he put up 51 pts in 78 AHL games and skated with the Flames for 2 NHL games
Nemisz's best pro season 2011-12 where he had 29 pts in 51 AHL games and 9 NHL games.
Both of these are very comparable to Hankowski's only pro season.... yet both Chucko and Nemisz would have been in the top 5 Flames prospects when they had their best seasons.

Pretty much a tossup for me between 3 d-men in Hickey, Mattson and Rafikov, but gave the edge to Rafikov because he really impressed me in last years Super Series.

Misseed the last vote where I would have chosen Hickey over Wolf (and possibly Mattson and Rafikov over Wolf as well).

I went for Roy. From what I have read, he has some decent offensive talent. He is somewhat of a boom or bust pick, but worth it for a 5th rounder.

Voted hickey but kinda wished it had voted for Hanowski. Cheering for him as the underdog story.

I'm still going with Gilmour, but there's an argument to be made for any one of these guys.
Im not holding my breath for any one of them, however.

Hanowski is underrated by CP though.
Guy had a decent first AHL season and got some good NHL games last year but doesn't seem to get any credit.

Hickey, reminds me of Brodie. Then AOM and Gilmour or Rafikov

After Hickey it's time to bow out, I've officially reached the end of my prospect knowledge. To keep voting would almost be picking names out of a hat.

Went with Hickey. Has that potential to be one of those steals of the draft. I don't believe Hanowski has a long term NHL future and Mattson was selected in the 6th round for a reason.

I don't know much about the guys left, so more commentary on what kind of players they are and why people are voting for them (or not voting them) would be appreciated.
It's been kind of quiet in that front, last big discussion was on Kanzig I think, and that was after he was already picked.

Hickey
Won't be voting Wolf/Hanowski/Cundari/Billins, or anyone else 24+ years old.

People really need to see Gilmour play. Just take a look at some of the plays he makes in the Jankowski vids floating around. This kid is Mark Giordano all over again.

Really like Gilmour but Hickey and AOM are ahead of him IMO.

Older or not, Ben Hanowski is a better prospect then Hickey.
He's only 23 BTW (October birthday)

So he'll be 24 the next time he plays hockey?
That's just it, I don't consider someone that age a 'prospect' any more.
