Well in my lobbying for Sieloff to be considered higher than he is going to be. From the way voting is going in the 6th round Sieloff is going to slip from 7th best last year to 11th this year.
He was 7th before he out performed Wootherspoon by quite a wide margin at training camp.
He was ahead of Poirier and Klimchuck. Did these guys so far exceed expectations that they blew past Sieloff as prospects?? If Sieloff would have skipped Flames camp last year he would have definitely been on the USA WJC team... Niether Poirer or Klimchuck was.
I can see Wootherspoon staying where he was because he improved over the season to the point where he may have caught Sieloff.
Does anyone think that Poirier and/or Klimchuck with be on the Calgary Flames roster (or even the first call up) when camp breaks....
That will be the case with either Sieloff or maybe Wootherspoon.
The Jets drafted Selanne #10 overall in 1988 after he put up 2 points 5 games when he shattered his leg. It was set poorly and over a year later he came to Winnipeg where he had the leg rebroken and re-set. He turned out OK.
In 1990 the Jets drafted TKachuck #19 over-all after he missed all but 6 games of his High School year (he got 26 pts in those 6 games). He recovered from his injury okay.
I think that too much emphasis is being given to Sieloff's injury and infection. It is not like it was his 5th concussion or something.
