Default Jersey Poll - All Time #31

Did this five years ago, thought it might be interesting again. Always fun to see younger fans and older fans arguing over different generations in a battle.

Will put one up a day whenever possible.

Have fun! and Go old guys!

How it works:

I pick off a key group of players for each jersey. I don't use every name, as that gets tedious and unnecessary (probably go with say 5 unless there are many that wore the same number).

I also don't put up a guy for the number he isn't known for (Iginla shouldn't win #24 for example)

Results:
1 - Roman Turek 67.8% (http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=138746)

Leveling was a great early 80s goaltender .. he lost his edge in the West when the Oilers improvement had them passing around his stand up style.

Had some record for starts without a loss or something.

Finally, a tougher decision.

Fuhr would be an easy choice if we are talking entire career, but as a Flame? I dunno, will have to put some thought into it.

edit - or not, this is a bunch of has-beens or career backups by the time they played for Calgary. Lemelin is the only real choice here.

Fuhr as a Flames was just wrong on so many levels.

Despite the early results, it is really a two horse race - Wregget or CoCo.....will have to develop a spreadsheet to determine where I place my vote.....will be back

Pat Riggin?

Edit: Whoops, he was #1 here. Was #31 in Washington. Also, I missed that vote. Riggin was one of my early faves on the team.

I still remember all the commotion Reggie's new pads caused back in 1985.

Have a soft spot for Tabby, but Lemelin gets the logical vote here.

Riggin did wear 31 here at first. Lemelin used to wear 1. I think they both switched while they were still on the team together.

Just as Bertuzzi and Marchment were. At least Fuhr wasn't a complete d-bag.

Will my vote change the value of my Ken Wregget rookie card?

Lemelin for sure, but I always liked Wamsley and was a solid backup in the heyday.

Always will remember going to the Canada Cup game in the summer of 1984 vs Czechoslovakia. Reggie got the start in net. Dome erupted when he led the team on the ice. "Reggie, Reggie".

Also remember he was one of the first keepers to try the new lighter pads. First game vs. Boston and he let out 30 foot rebounds on most shots.

Guy was terrible against the Oilers, but for sure the best Flame to ever wear 31
