Didn't include Chouinard who wore #7 in Atlanta but moved to #16 in Calgary.
Mullen for me ... the most excited traded for player in Flames history ... instant impact, and scoring chances every time out. McDonald was a more important trade for sure, but Mullen was like an instant injection of action the second he stepped on the ice. Wish they let him play four more years in Calgary.

Given it would take a Hall of Fame level career, I certainly hope so!

Also, anyone who votes Bertuzzi should be summarily banned.

This should be another no-brainer. Joe Mullen is the 5th all time U.S. born scorer, and he did the bulk of his production with the Flames INCLUDING a 110 point year. Pretty impressive player that never got enough praise.

Am I missing a joke? He's the only defenseman on the list.

...and the Flames traded him away for a 2nd round pick that was a bust, Mullen went on to more productive seasons and another Stanley Cup (sigh!)

Joey Mullen was one of the Flames best players in the history of the franchise, yet I feel he flies under the radar. Still pisses me off that the Flames braintrust decided he was too old at 33 years of age and traded him to Pittsburgh. The "old" guy only went on to win 2 Cups with the Penguins and put up some great numbers for the next 5 years for them.
During our Cup appearances in '86 and '89, he was a goal scoring machine netting 28 goals in 42 playoff games. Unreal numbers during those magical runs. Although small (5'9") the guy was tough as they come, always taking the punishment to score and totally Gretzkyesque in the way he could avoid oncoming checkers who wanted to put him through the boards.

My dad used to say, "No wonder the guy is from Hells Kitchen, he is a little devil on skates" One of my favorite Flames of all time, when I was 14 he pointed out that I was wearing 2 different socks when I met him at a McDonalds. Thanks Joey! Hahaha.

Hall of Famer, 3 Stanley Cups, class act.

Don't remind me. That, and the Gilmour trade spelled the end for the glory days of the Flames.

Also was upset when Loob retired. My 2nd favorite player back then after Lanny.

Joey Mullen, Terry Johnson and Rik Wilson for Eddy Beers, Charlie Bourgeois, and Gino Cavallini.
One of the three trades (incidentally, all with the Blues), that got this team over the hump (by beating the Oilers), and eventually to the Stanley Cup. Man, Cliff Fletcher was a genius back in the day...

My mind always forces the information out of my head that Bertuzzi played for the Flames. Then, occasionally, a thread reminds me that he did, and I get sad.
 Mullen here for sure.
