Unless it's against the Oilers...6-0 seems to be the established standard in those games.

This time, he brilliantly stopped on a dime and only his reputation carried into the goalie. Amazing play. Kid looked really good last night.

I'm on record on CP as being a big fan of this kid. I know he doesn't dazzle like some of the other kids like Zary, or come with the charisma and charm like a guy like Pelletier, and so many are okay to trade him or see him gone, but for a young player, he seems to really learn fast, knows what his strengths (and weaknesses are) and doesn't seem to do too much outside of what has him up with the Flames. I'm looking closely to see how he handles all the extra stuff after the whistle or even during play that has led to skirmishes and fights in the past given his reputation now and his concussion history. He seems like a smart kid and I'm expecting him to tone things down while still being a physically annoying player to line up against. I was very happy to hear Conroy and Huska speak about him like a core guy in this group.

He also was dominating at the World Championships until he got injured.(not concussed).
I'm a way bigger fan of his crap disturbing play. If we aren't going to be good we need guys like this on our team.

I've always been a fan of players of that ilk, but his concussion history doesn't lend as well to that, and he'll need to tread carefully.

If we're bitching about the reffing, the non-call on the too many men situation where the Canuck lost his blade was the most ridiculous. The ref even had to help the player to the bench long after his replacement had played the puck.

This!
I wondered why Conroy thought Pospisil might be fit. Bennett style of play is similar to Pospisil. A little vinegar in their games dragging others into the fight.
Huby was clearly more engaged tonite than most nights. Lets hope it keeps up.

Flames defeat Canucks 6-5 in OT!

I was honestly disappointed when Huska was chosen over Love. After watching the training camp videos and how he thinks and the way he talks to his players, 100% the right choice.

50/50 hindsight, but really wish Backs didn't try to score an empty-netter through a defender, just maintain the possession and kill the clock or wait until you have a clearer shot. Would have been nice for the Canucks to walk away with nothing, but I'm just being greedy.

I don’t think he saw Coleman to his left.

Honzek was the only player worth mentioning in the first period. Great effort, had some chances, just couldn’t pop one in. Not surprising he got limited minutes after that. Close game, you lean on the vets (funny that the “vets” in OT were 23 & 24 years old).

Believe Huska brought it up during a interview also. Pops plays a very fast straight line game. He draws alot of attention going straight up the middle, and allows Hub to set up the play or wait for the trailing D to come into play.

Maybe not (probably not), but all he had to do was continue skating with the puck and the play would have opened up in front of him. Instead, he just sent a soft wrister right at Hughes, who literally had no options there except to hope the shot hit him.
Oh well, they got the W.
And no doubt allowing VAN to get a point triggered Oiler fans. So call it a win.

My nephew and I were talking about it last night, he's kind of upset that we gave Canucks a point. But I said, that "point" could be the nail in the coffin for Oilers playoff hope.

Yup. I've said a few times here that Huby needs another Bennett on his line. Pospisil is the closest to Bennett we've seen here in awhile. Doesn't quite have Sam's hands, but certainly has his gumption and playstyle.
