If I recall correctly that one came about because a 21 year old Seguin (following a 62 point season and a 32/48 during the lockout year) partied in the playoffs during their cup run and Boston was pissed about it.



Another example that year is Forsberg (3/4 of a season after being drafted) for a 32 year old in decline Erat in the final moments at the trade deadline. Same year Calgary couldn't get anything for Cammalleri. That one blows my mind.

The-rasta-masta is legit. His inside info isn't typically "here's what I'm hearing" for weeks and months leading up to things happening. He just pops in a day or week before and says "so here's what's likely happening" lol.

True leader of the team takes a pay cut so the Flames can do the rest of the business they need to so they can be a Cup contender. If Backlund is looking mainly for team success and a shot at the Cup, the rumoured contract is certainly the way to do it!
