To be fair, he just threw his Oilers tarp on the ice.

What about the woman on the otherside? Are all 3 on chairs? It's bizarre.

Ron may also be playing that game where if someone looks at you making that symbol with your hand then you get to punch them.

I like that he's wearing Randy Bo-Bandy pants.

I'd guess they're all dancing on the bar.

I have decided/honestly think, he is in some form of a Randy costume.

Ron's always reminded me of this guy, I don't dislike Ron MacLean but he dishes it out so he can take it back, lol.

I do love to watch Gary Bettman's annual ragdoll event of Ron.

Ron MacLean with a beer, shirtless and rocking out while the people around him seem to be dressed for a formal party?

My hatred for Ron just decreased 10 fold. This picture completely changes my views on MacLean.

Which is why my answer to "if you could invite 6 CP members to a dinner party, who would they be" has never included Erick Estrada.

I heard the Fubar characters Deaner and Terry were based on Ron MacLean and Don Cherry.

Its bad, but thats just the nature of societal growth and change.

As a kid Gay jokes and Homophobic slurs were common. So common in fact that you didnt even think about them. At that point kids just didnt know any better.

There is this amazing thing that happens though...people grow up. They become wiser and more intelligent. Its how social change happens.

The better part of my childhood, calling something gay meant it sucked, and calling someone a fag or homo was a really absurdly common dis. If someone called you a ######, that was an escalation no doubt.
Maybe IIRC correctly, my senior year the general student body stopped using homophobic terms as a general rule, but without doubt it did remain a common insult.

Times change. People change.

We grow up.

Not just kids.

It is really illuminating when you watch 1980s or '90s sit-coms just how prevalent and socially encouraged homopgobic slurs were. It is a weird experience of remembering how much I loved this show, to feeling embarrassed about how much of what passed for "funny" was at the expense of the gay community.

Which is... astounding. But I guess that's what happened.
This happens a lot to people who just aren't comedically sharp/spontaneous. You see it a lot working in IT services because you have this mix of people who are natural talkers mingling with people who generally ... aren't.

Someone in the latter category starts going down the path of what they think is going to be witty banter; this clever riff that'll provoke a sensible chuckle from the other participants, but they quickly realize they're speaking faster than their train of thought is prepared to go. They realize they need to finish this stupid joke quickly and -- before they know it -- what started off as a mundane attempt at a casual joke has crossed four lanes of freeway traffic, missed the exit, and plowed into the ditch. You can see it in their body language.

Usually it just ends up as this kind of awkward remark that prompts someone to let out a weak but polite acknowledgement and someone else will very quickly take back the reins of the conversation. And sometimes it ends up having an unintentionally inappropriate conclusion, because that was the phrasing their mental game of word association came up with to get them out of this mess.

I'd invite him, but only because of the 0.0001% chance that he actually his Erik Estrada.

I’m positive that this is just bluster, coming from a guy whose avatar is Erik Estrada tarp off
