Yup. That line is so bad that they are essentially the 4th line. 3 mins left and the coach has more faith that Stajan or Brouwer may score than Bennett/Stajan.
It's pretty sad but I think Jankowski is making the decision to get sent down when jagr is back pretty easy thus far

Speaking of Jagr, are there any updates on his progress back to the lineup?

All this GG hate is very amusing after several of us started questioning his decision making ability a couple weeks ago and were quickly shot down.
That aside this coaching staff needs a makeover, This team has far too much talent to be this awful night after night.

Yeah, Janko was not good tonight and was meh the last game also. I was hoping that they would put Janko with Brouwer and Glass to see if he could fill that center spot better than Stajan. But yes i think Janko gets sent down and CP has yet another meltdown.

Based on the ice time, coaches obviously preferred the other lines....

Is David Cameron not responsible for the pp? Everyone calling for GG's head should take a long look at this dude's track record. Hated the hire the day it happened.

Maybe stajan can do them a solid and trade in his skates for a spot in the organization. It's not really working any more.

What Hartley did do was instill a tremendous work ethic. His teams skated hard and really came on and competed in the third.
I'm not advocating to bring him back or that Gulutzan should be fired. I just think on home ice the Flames should demonstrably be the hardest working team.
That was an identity that most people could be proud of. All those mountain climbers and hard practices had the team revving high. People say that year with all the comebacks was a fluke but they were the result of extreme hard work (the luck came after the work- the created those situations).
Gulutzan's systems (special teams included) would work a lot better with a higher work rate They need to rediscover that identity because it just looks uninspired at times.
It's just that 2% extra effort that they've let go.

Coaching staff I would think, really like Stajan..
There is no chance the Flames waive him.

This is the one that really irks me and makes me just dislike Glen. 6th defenceman choice shouldn’t be a big deal but we started out with Bart - which I was fine with - but he played his way out and Kulak was a definite improvement. So then why for no reason at all, when all the guy did was bide his time and play well when given his shot, would you take him back out of the lineup and ruin what was a good thing? What does that say to a guy like Kulak, outside of “your efforts are noted but gtfo anyways”. Honestly GG can just take a hike any day now.

How is Backlund any more of a threat from the point than Versteeg is?
If I was to run the powerplay, I'd personally run it like this:
Tkachuk
Gaudreau - Monahan
Giordano - Hamilton
Jagr
Backlund - Frolik
Brodie - Versteeg

I seriously doubt, knowing how this organization is run, that GG gets to make roster decisions.

I'd swap Jagr and Tkachuk and get Versteeg the hell off any PP unit. I'd put Stone out there instead.
I'm so done with Versteeg on the point taking low percentage shots and making horrible passes.
