Lol what a garbage team.
It's hilarious that the flames want to make threats to leave when there are so many ppl willing to pay for this extremely boring product.
We have 2 good players (outside of smith), Gaudreau and Tkachuk. Everyone else is average or Suck.
Fire the coach, do something. this team is mind numbingly boring to watch and not good at the game itself.
Maybe our genius gm should have a better feel for this mediocrity before trading top round picks out.

Out of thanks, but absolutely.
GG was an upgrade on Hartley, but I don't like what either brought/bring and the dislike of both are in completely different areas for me.

We don't have quality D in the system. I know Flame fans are used to bad D prospects in the system but ours is pretty average. Kylington will Never make it. Andersen right now has the best chance to be a 4/5 and Valimaki is way too young to be that excited about.
And Parsons is exciting. Gillies can't even earn an ahl job let's be serious.

So much to dislike about this team right now. Yeah, they're being more disciplined, and playing better 5on5, but that's still not cutting it.
In my mind, Gulutzan has at least earned the opportunity to change up the special teams and try to kickstart this team again like he did last year. My fear is that he won't change even though he really needs to.
Also, last year we had to hit rock bottom before turning it around (the TOR/MTL debacle) -- now we're 0-4-0 in our last four home games and have 6 more coming up. Gulp.

And they definitely don't sign a small weak pp specialist useless 5 on 5 player and then re-sign him again.

Hartley had Monahan, Gaudreau, Giordano, Brodie, Bennett, and Ferland playing their best. None of those players have looked the same since he left. I know Monahan and Gaudreau have had good point production this season, but you can't say that they're dominating games like they used to under Hartley. Giordano is simply an amazing player but his point production is way down. Brodie, Bennett and Ferland are not even remotely the same players they once were.

Hartley had them playing way over their heads. that's why they missed the playoffs the following year.

I just don't understand how the Flames managed their lines tonight...
Stajan line has zero offensive ability.... yet they played 14 minutes...
Really really boring game.....

On another note, is anyone getting sick of watching the linesman put on a show? Just drop the puck already. I can see why Don Cherry loses his mind over this.

Lehtonen is a horrible goalie, he had zero wins and an under 0.900 S%, yet the Flames don't fire any shots when we have an od man rush or have a chance, they opt to pass and overpass without a shot, and ####ty passes at that. Do we not scout their goalies? fire everything at the net and hope for rebounds. This team is getting painful to watch.

I think the PK will get better...they are getting beaten by perfect shots and some seeing eye shots.
PP though...doesn't show many signs

Are you sure you aren't confusing Jankowski with Stajan?
If there's an area where I disagree with Gulutzan, it's his usage of Stajan over Jankowski. Everyone else, I feel, is being properly used at even-strength. Special teams are a whole different ballgame.

That's based on his 7 minutes of ice time?
I thought most of the Flames were off tonight
TJ Brodie was probably the best skater....
However I would bet Jankowski is reassigned.... When Jagr is activated.

I think this shows that all the people that think the guys in the AHL that should be playing today instead of Stajan, Brouwer....probably could not

I never said Stajan was good either...Janko spent 6 of those 7 minutes in his own zone. Honestly he hasn't shown much....might not be ready
That doesn't mean I like those other guys...although I'm sure Stajan would put up good numbers in the AHL with first line minutes. The NHL is a major step below the NHL
