That's a pretty stupid response, imo. What does the French language or people have to do with anything?? I've lived in Montreal for years and that certainly is not the first thing that popped into my head.

But, that aside, it sounds like being bullied wasn't his only problem.

This clown was nothing but a coward, he was bullied, hell everyone was bullied, but instead of taking some personal responsibility in his life, or even going after the people that bullied him, he made excuses, blamed other people, and then went to a school and shot 20 people. Where the hell were the parents in this situation, because I'm damn sure that somebody who writes that kind of garbage in his blog, is going to be whining and shouting his twisted viewpoints from any soap box that he can find.
I will never buy the bullying excuse for situations like this, kids can be cruel we know that and no amount of huggy feely babbotherapy is ever going to change that.
It would have been nice to catch this gutless loser alive so they could have maybe figured out why idiots act like idiots, but true to his form, he performed a cowardly act, and then took the cowards way out. If he was so anti police and so anti bully he would have taken his rifle and taken a few shots at the cops.
The only words that come to mind are coward, gutless, loser. In a f-d up situtation the only positive that I can come up with is he removed himself from the gene pool.

Something led to this guy being crazy. It's not an excuse, a cop-out, a justification or anything else. The guy was crazy and there was a reason for it. I don't have any sympathy either but it's not some special insight to say he needed treatment. I mean really, that's like pointing at a house that is burned down and saying "what special insight do you have to say they should have phoned the fire department"?
|
Slightly off base. Phillycup06 and Politicalrenegade would look at the burned-out house and, before any forensic investigation, immediately deem faulty wiring the cause.
I don't deny that the killer had a problem. I just bristle when he's diagnosed by armchair quarterbacks before any facts have seen the light of day.

Some info from CTV regarding the killers blog

In a blog on vampirefreaks.com, an online hub of goth culture, journal entries made in Gill's name speak about the hatred he feels toward society and his obsession for guns.
His "likes" include "crushing my enemies skulls" and "Super Psycho Maniacs roaming the streets freely."
The blog includes a photo of a tombstone with his name printed on it. Below it, the phrase reads: "Lived fast died young. Left a mangled corpse."

Let me get one thing straight; I'm not trying to "make excuses" or "justify" what this punk did. What he did was horrible. I'm just trying to unroot what caused him to do such a severe and outrageous act. If we figure that out, maybe we can do something about it in the future. A psychological approach to the situation, if you will.

Holy ****, I am just reading those comments by other users under each picture and people on that site are praising him for what he did. Some people said "I would have done it if you hadn't", "congratulations on a jobn well done"..

People who praise this sort of thing should be viewed in the same light as the person who actually did the shooting
Stuff like that makes me sick, I mean what kind of person are you how can you look at yourself in the mirror and think to yourself I am glad innocent people are dead

Todays article on canoe.ca was particularily disturbing. Another student asked to help the girl who eventually died, and shooter-guy said "no", and proceeded to pump her full of bullets. What a fataing coward.

Story today in the Toronto Star:
http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/Con...l=968350116467
Gill was not a disaffected teenager coping with intense feelings of worthlessness, bullied and belittled by classmates, thus driven to an apocalyptic comeuppance. He was a fully grown adult, if in arrested emotional development, 25 years old and living with his mommy in the northern suburbs of Montreal.
He thought quite highly of himself, no inferiority complex here.
He loathed bullies but claimed, you know, it wasn't entirely their fault, more that they were permitted to get away with it because teachers and principals turned a blind eye, but there's no evidence, at least not yet, that he was ever bullied himself, and at age 25 he was surely many years removed from the angst of teen-hood or the high school environment.
What a hopeless, hapless creep.
