So much ignorance. So much desperation. So much false hope.

Speaking of ignorance, I wanted to barf last night when noted Canucks fan Jock Wilson kept insisting that the Flames " threw Sven under the bus". He and Mark Steven are the thickest sports bozos in this city, easily beating out Eric Francis. My fault for listening to 770 "Sports Talk."

Wow do they look younger in civilian clothes.
Or, wow, do I feel old when seeing players dressed in civilian clothes.
Bollig looks YOUNG without his beard.

One thing I'm willing to give the 'nucks 100% credit for is getting good sticks in passing lanes. They brought their A game in that regard, and stopped many dangerous chances.

It's funny, Sven should've taken #27 as a sign management thought he was on the cusp of making the team, instead he turns it into a negative. Says a lot about his character.

Agreed on the forecheck - they were turning pucks over in the offensive zone in game 4, and at the very least making the breakout for the Canucks difficult. I couldn't put my finger on it until now, but I think the forecheck was just not at good on games 1 and 2. It seemed to make a big difference.

I guess I was wrong in the OP. Miller is the confirmed starter tonight.

Canucks Desjardins on Sven Baertschi: "He just wants to show they maybe gave up on him a little soon. I'm sure that's what he's feeling."

To add a little bit to all the Baertschi drama:
It is getting really tiresome listening to the constant claims on Vancouver radio today about how much he has to prove against the team that gave up on him. I just listened to Desjardin's press conference, and he repeated this same sentiment, and it is about the fourth or fifth time I have heard it today.
Yes, you read that correctly: the Flames "gave up" on Baertschi...
The way I remember it, he forced their hand and basically told the team to move him. Revision history at its finest.

Mark Stephen is terrible. I have no idea why the Stamps continue to use him. Jock Wilson is terrible and has a huge grudge against the Flames.

I give Desjardins (but not anyone else) a pass on this - he's probably just trying to motivate the kid.

its pretty funny the "veteran" team is grasping at straws here
Sven, Miller, ect.
Flames just need to focus on their own team

Vancouver media not aware that Sven forced the trade or is this revisionist history to drum up a story? Maybe Desjardins doesn't know the whole story, he does seem pretty out of it.

Sven said he felt slighted? Or is Tomlinson just speculating?
Either way it doesn't make any sense, clearly the Flames were showing him that by giving him a low number (and his regular number too) that becoming an NHLer was within reach.
Whatever, I hope Gaudreau burns him by stickhandling circles around him or Ferland lays him out a few heavy hits. Get it through his head that he was simple outperformed by these guys, which is why they're playing prominent roles on the winning team and he isn't.
