Say what you want about Phaneuf now, but when he was a Flame he was a dominant presence on the ice and one of the premiere defensemen in the league. Just a shame the league style completely changed and his game fell off a cliff.

Still don't like him as a person though.

Yeah Phaneuf is next. I think his game fell off because he lost a step with his hip injury and wouldn't adjust. He also stopped fighting and stopped his big hits.

You all are too young to know the greatness that was Pekka Rautakallio.

Plus, however good Phaneuf was early on had a lot to do with the Hammer.

Phaneuf was only good for two seasons and that was all on Hamrlik. After his third season he just became useless and was a defensive liability. Phaneuf was just a flash in the pan like Jim Carey (the goalie) and Jonathan Cheechoo.

Dion. He had some outstanding seasons. May have ended on a sour note. Ference should be next always liked Ference hard nosed play. Liked him just as much as a Bruin.

How is Jay Bouwmeester getting any votes? The guy was terrible, soft, and is the worst under pressure D man in the history of hockey.
