Kulak, followed by Phillips then Rittich for me
These are the last three with the potential to be impact players for me. After that it will be the Hathaways and Lombergs of the world

Sticking with Kulak ....
I think he, Jankowski and Bennett are three of the key players for next season. Not key in a team's best players, but key in biggest moves into prominent roles or not, either adding some quality depth or keeping the team top heavy.

I'm going with Klimchuk here. Really solid season in the A last year and got heaps of praise from Huska and company on his play at both ends of the ice. He registered 43 pts in 66 games and gained more and more responsibility as the season went on.
As I mentioned before, Kulak is already an NHLer in my mind so he doesn't get a vote from me.

Voted Klimchuk as well. 200 ft play, quiet all round guy. Put up DECENT stats in the A last year. I think he'll get his cup of coffee this year.

Kulak would be a #5 or #6 on a lot of NHL teams, but on the Flames he's only the #11 best player on the farm?
I dunno...

The Flames defense wasn't exactly deep last year, but he struggled to get in the line-up.
I went with Phillips. I think he has a ton of upside.

The poll is about upside combined with readiness. It's a different volume on combination for some but that's how it boils down. Readiness has little to do with it for me but it does factor in. The poll is not about rating the depth chart of the Stockton Heat.
Kulak should be higher due to closeness to the NHL, but I value upside much more.

Kulak. Closest to the NHL combined with pretty good upside. Everybody else on the list is a pretty big question mark.

I don't think that's a fair statement...that he's a #5 or #6 on a lot of NHL teams. Which ones?

Went with Rittich again. If any of our two goalies fail, I can see Rittich taking their job.

I view "this guy is able to play in the NHL" as being worth more than "this guy is really good... if only he could do that in the NHL."

Kulak is no sure thing. His place in the lineup is not assured by any means.

I voted Kulak this round, but there's not a single guy above him that I would trade to acquire Kulak. I think he's about right where he should be on this list.

Hathaway and Kulak will likely be on the opening night roster this season. Both have already played more NHL games than most prospects ever will.
I picked Hathaway over Kulak because I think Hathaway is the better player.

I think Poirier can be impactful. Whether he will is another question.

If Kulak is a #5-6 on a lot of teams, why didn't Vegas take him? Fact is, he hasn't proven he's a #5-6 in the NHL yet. He's shown glimmers of being a solid defender, but has to put it together consistently. I also think a lot of people think Kulak tops out as a #5-6, so that's likely why he's so far down in the rankings.

It's hard to call Kulak a prospect because he's already played like 30 NHL games, so I went with Rittich. Sure its possible Kulak can grow in a great defensemen (he's only 23yrs old), but that will be hard in the Flames system. I have him pegged as the 3rd pairing LD pending he doesn't lose it to Bartowski or Wotherspoon.

If Kulak goes through it's going to be interesting to see where the Kulak voters go between Phillips, Poirier and Rittich
