Poirier's story has me sold on him getting back to where he should be.

I voted Kylington, he's a top 5 talent that fell in a deep draft. Love the upside on that young man.

Valimaki looks like you can reliably project him as a top-4 guy (having never watched him, just seems the consensus).
Kylington can be a star. My #4.

Has to be Valimaki. Then Kylington, then Fox, then Phillips, then Poirier.

I debated between Kylington and Valimaki. One has incredible upside and offensive potential, but has glaring holes in his defensive game. The other is a safer prospect, but might top out as a #3 defenseman.
I went with Kylington because he's improved on the holes in his game and is still so, so young yet he has been playing against men for years now. I think in 2 years he'll be in the NHL.

Tough call between Fox and Valimaki.
Went with Fox. Best 18 year-old NCAA freshman season by a defenceman since Brian Leetch. Better points-per-game as a freshman than Gaudreau. 3 points in the gold medal game at the World Jrs.

Valimaki for me. Not sure who I'm picking next. Kylington and Gillies are probably right up there though.

Went with Kylington again due to his upside. Elite skating D-men that can create offence are valuable, and I think the Flames will help him fix his defensive deficiencies.
I won't begrudge anyone for having chosen Andersson in the last poll, or Valimaki this time around. Fox I am personally a bit more hesitant on. I didn't like him as much in the world juniors as I liked Kylington. Fox (for me) is still a bit too much of a boom/bust type for me to rank him this high, but I can definitely understand an argument for him here. His numbers were nothing short of spectacular in his freshman season.

I was going to go with Fox as well, but an article I recently read ( https://flamesnation.ca/2017/04/08/p...p-up-adam-fox/ ) on the level of competition he's been facing raised a few flags for me. Not his fault whatsoever that the division he plays in is so weak, but it put things a bit more in perspective when you consider Kylington has been doing what he's been doing, against men in some of the best leagues in the world. So he got my vote.

Some good d-men still left on the board, but I went with Kylington...because I guess he's the one I want most to succeed?

I had to go Fox here. His upside is higher imo than Kylington or Valimaki.

Valimaki has a lot of votes I see, case of the new shiny toy. I voted for Fox.

I think it's a good problem to have.
So many quality prospects in the "4th to 10th-best" range that a legit argument can be made for any of them.

Not at all. I am voting for Valimaki because I believe he represents the highest probability of becoming a high impact top four defenseman. Some of the others have a higher upside, but Valimaki is about as sure a bet to be an excellent NHL player as the Flames have.

Valimaki was a 16th overall pick, I don't think anyone can deny he has a lot of potential. He was my choice here.
That said, I could have also easily gone with Fox and almost did. Others putting Kylington here.
Man, we have some great D prospects don't we. If even one or two work out to what they look like they could...Jackpot.
