Default Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2017 - Round 7

It's baaaaaaaaaaaaaack

Calgarypuck's 5th Annual Prospect Ranking Poll Series

Here are the last 5 years for a quick glance ...
Prospect Rankings
2013 - http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthr...ospect+Ranking

2016 - http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=156151

As per usual the vote is up to you. Some see it as most likely to play, some see it as highest ceiling, others see it as a mix of both.

Happy voting!

Who will join Sean Monahan, Johnny Gaudreau, Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk as the top prospect. Previous four have gone straight to the show.

It was Rittich last round, and it's still Rittich.

Fox had about as good of a season as you could possibly imagine for a 3rd round pick.

Still Fox for me.

US National Development Team: Highest scoring season by a d-man ever.

U-18 World Championship: Named tournament top d-man.

Harvard: Led all NCAA d-men in scoring as a freshman. The highest PPG in a season by a U-19 aged d-man in the NCAA since Bryan Leetch in 1986/87.

World Juniors: 4 points as an under age d-man and a gold medal.

Sure he is small but the numbers he has put up are unprecedented. At the same age he has outproduced guys like Werenski and McAvoy who look like studs right now. Or look at the similarly sized Gostisbehere who never did anything close to Fox at those levels.

It's tempting to vote for Fox, but I'm sticking with Mangiapane because of his performance at the pro level.

I voted for Fox for the second time.

I think Foo probably belongs in the top-ten, but am hesitant to rank him ahead of Dube—who will probably get my next vote—or either Poirier or Rittich.

I went with Fox.

To me spot #7 is the end of that first traunch of prospects that have a chance to be upper roster impact players. There are players below this line that could surprise, but to me the top 7 are the big ones.

Then it's another set of 7 or so that have a lot going for them, but also limitations that could hinder them should the averages come to bare (bear?).

the big thing for me is hit rate ... if they could get 2/7 and 1/7 being impact players the Flames are in good shape going forward.

I'm on the Foo train.

I really don't get the Fox hype.

Fox again, 2 through 7 for me were roughly equal for me. I also don't know where to put Rittich.

Next I move on to Magpie, Foo, or Dube.
