Pierre had an opportunity to remove Aaron Gunn and chose to keep him. He's just as much of a bigot as the rest of his base.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to suggest Pierre is also not a right-wing deplorable. I mean, there's a reason he got the leadership. Just that I think that if he's out, it doesn't change anything in the party. They'll just try to put someone just as deplorable.

Is there a good website to visualize the results from the different elections?
I've looked at the National Post and CBC websites but it's not exactly what I'm after. Would like to see the change in vote for each election. National Post has a toggle for the last election, but I want to go back further than that.

This was a predictable loss for the Conservatives tonight, and yes, we do live in the best country in the world - but identifying issues and hoping for things to be better does not mean that person is being led astray by a foreign party.
To essentially say that those who are clamouring for change have been influenced by (or are) Russian bots minimizes real issues in this country that thousands of people are facing.
|
Well then talk about the specific issues and what policies you would like to see put in place and how to pay for them. That is reasonable.
Worst country in the world? GTFOH with that bull shiz.

Wikipedia is your best bet. They have every election broken down by province

I'm not a father and I also find that stuff repugnant. Had an acquaintance that was 37 and dating an 18 year-old a couple of years ago. ####ing gross.
Also, the boomers who flirt and/or harass young waitresses at pubs. Absolute pigs.

It 100% was but that's kind of the point the Conservative Party missed.
Had they angled that way earlier in this election cycle they win this election in a landslide.
They didn't, it opened up the door for Carney to do it once Trudeau stepped down and now the Conservatives and too many people in Alberta are sitting here whining about what was a pretty obvious path forward for the party to take.

PP isn't going to step down. Living off our dime is all he has ever known.
Also the Libs would want him to be leader for the Cons for the rest of his life.
Just how like we wanted Kevin Lowe to be the GM for the Oilers forever.

Albertans: How dare Canada elect the Liberals for a 4th straight term.
Also Albertans: Votes PC/Reform/Conservative for 23 federal elections in a row.

Shortly after he was elected leader of the Conservative Party, Poilievre moved into Stornoway house, the taxpayer-funded official residence of the leader of the Opposition.
But according to the Official Residences Act, Stornoway is reserved for the “Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons”. Since Poilievre lost his seat, he is no longer recognized as the official leader of the opposition.
That means that in all likelihood, Poilievre and his family will have to move out to make space for the next party leader in the House of Commons. He also loses out on a $215,090 annual budget for residence staff and services and a $2,000 annual vehicle allocation.
Without a seat in Parliament, Poilievre will not be able to return to the House of Commons when it resumes. That makes things more awkward for the Conservative leader, who must now find a way to regain a seat, while also soothing party concerns about its loss.

It would be funny if he got an MP to resign so he could run in a "safe" riding (isn't that what Carleton was supposed to be?) and then lost again... and then did that 2 more times to give the Liberals a majority.

The by-election would have to be called by Carney and I think he can wait for up to a year to approve it. It could be 15months before PP gets back in da house!
There is no way the Cons would let him grift for that long would they?
