The Liberals can still allow the NDP to maintain official party status if they choose. Throwing them that bone might be enough to get them to support the government for the foreseeable future.

holy ####, Pierre is going to just parachute into another riding?
I don't think there is a more clear message to his party tonight. They're going to have a record high number of actual votes cast for them, it's just the ####ing leader no one likes. Him sticking around has a serious chance of undoing it all, especially if the NDP have any sort of comeback.

Hasn't he already been ousted as mayor? Didn't he have to step down to run federally or could he hold onto his job as mayor while campaigning?

2 Liberal seats if Hogan and Olszewski hold, ties the best Liberal result ever in Alberta. Not sure if that's a positive or a negative.

Not saying he was a great premier but he and hinshaw got us through Covid in a respectable manner. One of those moments, just like where you see GW Bush come across as insightful and intelligent, that really goes to show much society has fallen due to the influx of right wing propaganda and foreign (Russian primarily) psyops

The CPC never had to cater to the PPCer vote. That was the biggest misstep. They could have pivoted center anytime and told those guys to screw off.

He should know, he's the one that brought them into the party and figured he could hold onto the tiger's leash. Who could have guessed that it wouldn't turn out very well for him or Alberta.

Nope, Sohi is still mayor now that he lost tonight. Two councillors were managing the temporary duties the past few weeks, but Sohi steps back as mayor now that the election is over. It's kind of ridiculous how that happened.

They're counting fast in Carleton now! 80% of polls returned, PP still losing by ~2k votes.
