They will learn to love us when we outlast their beloved chokers.

really? I actually thought it looked pretty good on TV, but I wasn't at the game. You always get that handful of people and 100% assimilation to the red will be tricky. You get tourists and random self-absorbed people all the time who just don't think it's a big deal, unfortunately. I mean it is too bad, but, dunno. I feel like people should chip in $5 for these lonely deprived soles and buy a jersey at Fanattic and bring it to them and make them feel shame while the game is going on.

Watching the game last night, it felt like the Flames gave up so little that I said to Mrs Root: "I think they still get the shutout if I'm in net instead of Markstrom".

Well I just re-watched the game and it was actually even more dominant than I thought...

Of the Stars' 16 shots, 4 were dump ins. And another 4 were wristers from the boards.

DAL had a total of 2 shots from home plate. And 3 shot attempts from home plate. Three! In 60 minutes of hockey, with 5 power plays! If they get 3 per game going forward, this series will be over in 4 games.

Not only did they not get a shot in the last 11 minutes, they never had a shot attempt in the last 5 minutes. You're down one goal, in a playoff game, and you can't generate a single attempt? Owned.

As per usual Jay, I see the sarcasm game is on point.

Full disclosure: I imagine you to be like Randy Marsh in Sarcastaball who's whole life has become sarcasm, and every time you reach out to CP for help it's just more sarcasm.

Let’s not be like Oiler fans.

Waves are no good
That data point indicates that doing a wave caused the Oilers to lose. So we should be doing the wave all game every game.

Also, someone really needs to make a gif of 2:38:49 of the telecast (4 1/2 minutes left in the 3rd).

Flames are going to need to up their discipline game and take fewer penalties because Dallas is very capable of turning things around. Boring game because I’ve grown accustomed to the high powered Flames but nice to see the win.

Waves are NO good in a close game as it gives off the impression that we have already won.

No wave unless up 3 goals minimum.

Close games like that may be stressful to watch but the style that the Flames played last night will win you 4 series of 4 games out of 7 99 times out of a 100.

It's simple math.

I thought the opposite but it probably comes to down our own individual expectations. I wonder whether some people attending the game just don't think it will be EVERYONE in the early going of the playoffs so they don't bother and would rather be conservative. By the second round, I expect it will be 100% red.

Close but it’s never 100%. There’s always some self absorbed jag off that thinks they’re so special they need to wear something different.

This is only one photo from last night (lower bowl), but it looks to be mostly red.

Note that the person that sticks out the most is the one wearing the WHITE Flames jersey.

The person wearing Blasty blends in but is no better than the guy wearing a regular black jacket.

Spoiler for size:
Spoiler!

What’s worse? The wave in a one goal playoff game in the third or chanting “we want the Cup” in OT of game 6 of the finals.

If you are unable to stand to watch a playoff game I think you have to be strategic about where your seats are. Not reasonable to expect fans at a playoff game to sit during the biggest moments.

I think the wave is fine if we are up by 2 or more in the 3rd, but in a 1 goal came it feels clueless.
I’m with you on this one. If everyone can stand during shootouts, everyone can stand for the end of 3rd. Although I’m sure I’ll get my ass kicked for trying to start that one.
