which is fine- the point isn't really which team had it worse off- just that the loss of Anderson (and the spill off effect of dropping Kylington) would have had an impact on the Flames generating offence (both in the offensive zone and in transition)

Dunno who the Dallas odd man out was. Just heard it mentioned on the fan this morning. I think it would hit Dallas harder because I think we have the superior d-man lineup.
I should mention that Coleman went into beast mode. Jesus he upped his game.

They were. Every time that they panned to the Dallas coaching staff trying to look stern and in control, behind them there was a brunette and a blonde having the best time anyone has ever had at a hockey game. They added to the dynamic of the game from an entertainment viewpoint and the Flames should probably comp them drinks to make sure that they come back for the next game. They weren't in revealing outfits, but their aura was fantastic.

Watching in person, their repeated tactic of Johnny or Matty centers the puck from behind the net failed again and again every single time. It was picked up or blocked before someone could get off the one timer. It seems like Dallas has focused on and solved this strategy.
Dallas definitely watched film on the Flames and they figured out the dump and chase after the first period.
If the Flames adjust and get their PP going and figure out another zone entry option Dallas will be in big trouble.
Fourth line with Lucic deserves more love. They gave the team and crowd a lot of energy -- hit everything that moved. They controlled play in the first period, and ate up clock in the third. They were used less in the second, but I would guess that's a Sutter coaching decision with the long change. Big part of why we won and held the Stars to so few chances.

Also, it was funny to watch the Stars players trying to interfere with incoming forechecker so that their d-man wasn't getting punished. This was particularly evident when the fourth line was out. You also started to see the Stars d-men start to give up on plays in the corner. They will get worn down quickly.

The 2nd period was constant penalties, killing the overall flow and regularity of a lot of players' shifts.

Yeah the 4th line was great last night and Darryl had them out at some key times.
