None of Backlund, Toffoli or Mangiapane are playmakers first and foremost. They have no one particularly skilled at set ups to do just that.

They can all pass a puck fine but having defined roles for each guy instead of three guys that prefer to shoot would help. A guy with vision who wants to thread a puck to their line mate would take them very far.

For those who hate waves, no more waves for you! No waving to your friend's, no waves at the wave pool, no waves at the Dome, and no waiving any fees at your bank!

Toffoli had a shot off the post, GlutenProduct had a couple of good chances.

Yeah, I thought Dube - Jarnkrok - Coleman had a great game.

Nothing about the Stars 16 shots total including 0 in the final 11 minutes while chasing the game.

AND Stars were 0-5 on PP

I see you've never done business with my bank. They haven't waived a fee since 1869.

We joke about those SN headlines but TSN are embodying that joke for real.

Embarrassing stuff to deny the Flames the credit they deserved for locking down the first shutout of the post season.

Fun Fact:
On the SN Website, there is a segment for Edmonton Oilers with a "more coverage" link, and a segment for Toronto Maple Leafs with a "more coverage link" and a section that says "Flames win game 1", with no link to additional Flames coverage.

Really solid game from the Flames last night, they gave the Stars nothing. Lots of concern in here that the Flames, and specifically the top line, generated very little, but Dallas generated less because they were focused entirely on clogging things up in their own end. They are going to have to open it up if they want to score at all, and when they do, the Flames' offense will open up too. Not worried in the slightest.

I think, you want to establish defense and physicality, early in a series, and the Flames did that last night.

Well, of course. They only have those links for the Canadian teams.

That might bring the Dome down.

Tim and Friends today with tons of praise for the Flames and good things to say about the Flames and in particular, the Tkachuk hit/fight and Andersson fight, saying Tkachuk is the guy you want on their team (showing Sutter praising Tkachuk for it in his post-game) and Andersson either not knowing about the rule or not caring, but stepping up and not taking s**t from Klingberg. Night and day comparison to Hrudey's take during the 1st intermission (and I'm a Hrudey supporter 90% of the time) where he accused Tkachuk of diving.

Tim is actually always very positive on the Flames.

I am surprised that anyone thinks Tkachuk was embellishing there. He looked pretty angry about it and was instantly ready to fight. Tkachuk isn't a guy that likes to fight, nor is he particularly good at it. For him to get up and want to go right away I think shows that he was mad about being tripped. If he was embellishing just to get a call, he would have just left it with a trip rather than getting angry enough to take himself out of the game for 5 min.

I also like Hrudey, but he was really stretching there just to try and find some talking points for TV.

This is so true. They can either live with 1-0 losses where they put all their focus on limiting us at the sacrifice of any offence or open the dam both ways and lose 5-2.
