I think a lot of people don't know a lot about Kyrou (myself included), so it seems underwhelming.
I've seen seen a few articles suggesting he's a budding star though, so maybe the value is there.

He is easily on the Flames 3rd line. The 4th line will have Lucic making 5.25 M so there's that.

Most Canadian teams haven’t done anything in 17 years. The over analysis of players on Canadian teams by their fans is crazy. GMS need to make moves based on improving their teams. Not what the fans want. Look what it’s gotten us thus far? Nothing but brain damage.

*SIGH* Not this again.

Backlund is not by any measure a 2/3 C "tweener," and did not really show any signs of "trending down" this year.

He's a solid, above average second-line centre, and has been so for some time now.

Or maybe he is a trade chip.

Pitlick seems like a prime candidate to take over that spot on the 3rd line RW with Lucic and Backlund and I don't think Dube is going down the line up. On the other hand it was a tough year for him and he was called out by Sutter as needing to improve.
It is not the third line... It is a checking line. Lucic does not belong on the ice against the other teams top line. Unless he is starting a fight with one of them

Bouma - Colborne.. Pitlick?

Wouldn't surprise me if Backlund turns Pitlick into a (near) 20 goal scorer too.

Notable Pitlick highlight, courtesy fellow Minnesotan and ex-Da Beauty League teammate and opponent, Dustin Byfuglien.

What you are blaming Canadian fans for the poor results of Canadian teams. How about straight forward poor GM's.

The reality is +3 assets in the last three calendar years.

That's just simply a fact.

I literally went back three years of trades involving picks and prospects and they are +3 in that three year window.

Not really worth debating that.

Recent history doesn't have a bad UFA signing, and doesn't have a net picks out the door.

Why argue something that you can just look up?

If only there was more to look up that just goals ....

I'd say 83rd percentile in five on five defensive hockey against 91st percentile in quality of competition is more than a bottom line plug.

You don't generally play your plug against the opposition's best.

Not all assets being the same. I traded my $2 million house for a $200,000 house, so they're the same thing. House=house. Doesn't work that way.
Martin Pospisil =/= Oliver Wahlstrom.

That's just simply a fact.

Yikes ... how do you really feel?

The guy I responded to said they give up picks for bottom roster players every single year.

I simply went back the last three years and said they are net positive in picks.

So no I don't think I was being disingenuous or naïve.

Thanks though!

Tyler Pitlick is a good bottom six player.

Poor guy is made of glass though. I feel like he's spent half of his pro career on the injured reserve.

Well if it's any consolation your comments always come off smarmy instead of angry.
