I texted this to my neighbour who isn't an Oilers fan, he isn't even a hockey fan, but he is cheering for the Oilers because the Oilers are Alberta team. I just laugh, he predicted Oilers in 6. And he asked for my prediction, I said Panthers in 5 or less. He then texted that to his son who is a diehard Oilers fan, his son wasn't impress and ask his dad to tell me to put money where my mouth is. I said to my neighbour, I don't bet, but if Oilers do win (god forbid), I'll him some green onion pancakes which he loves.
What I'm planning to do though is sending him this every game Oilers lose.

The Oiler's regressed in the standings this year, they regressed in the fancy stats, their captain regressed, their depth regressed, their special teams regressed, their goaltending regressed. The only player on that team that is performing above last years performance is Draisaitl.
And yet, they've steamrolled their opponents this year in the playoffs. They got hot at the right time and nothing in game 5 against the Stars indicates that's slowed down.

You should have bet on the Oilers. After that putrid play by Byfield I bet on them every game!

I don't understand why the NHL has stretch out the days before the Finals start, It's summer for Christ sakes and many people are outdoors doing things.

Help, save, whatever.

I don't know when it started but it seems like all leagues do it now. I don't understand the reason behind it.

One of my neighbors has a projector and sound system in his garage. He leaves the door open and has an open invitation for anyone who wants to swing by and watch while all the kids play street hockey.
It's a pretty cool setup for these warmer days. Unfortunately it's ruined since everyone is a bunch of Oiler fans.
Go Florida! I love seeing the block's dejection after a loss.

I didn't have a good feeling last year. This year I feel a lot more confident for the Panthers.

Marchand does have game 7 magic in him. Bummer it didn't happen against the Blues in 2019.

If you go by storylines Edmonton should win the cup. If you go by actual play on the ice Florida should win.

Storylines are for fiction, this is reality so actual play should determine this; Florida win and all is well!

Who are the Conn Smythe front runners going into the series? McLottery and Bobo?
I'd love to see 18 year old Sam Bennett win it.

I followed the advice, and put some $$ down on both an Oiler win and Connor getting the Conn Smythe. If my track record in sports betting is any factor, I have guaranteed the unthinkable won't happen. If it does, I at least have a few bucks to drown my sorrows in.
When Florida wins, I'll just see it as an investment in the karma of the universe. Pay it forward, that sort of thing.
I did put a small flyer bet on Bennett as Conn Smythe. Paying 30/1, and he could have a monster impact on this series. Winning this bet would be very satisfying.
