How does Trump or fascism or foreign politics have anything to do with these two hockey teams? Might as well judge them by climate change.
And if someone wants to judge these organization by moral character I don't know how Edmonton comes out on top.

Embarrassing. Maybe you can type that in Calgary Herald or Youtube comments but you can't type that here!
I mean I would rather Tkachuk french kiss Trump in the Oval office than to have the Oilers win the cup!

Exactly. Crosby and Malkin won their first cup when they were both under 23. Kane and Toews won when they were under 23.
Ovechkin is the only exception winning after he was 30.
Both McDavid and Draisaitl are in the prime at 28 and 30. The fact it's taken this long to be on the verge of a cup shows how poorly managed the team has been for the majority of the years with their superstars. Even if they win and it is painful to see our rivals lift the Stanley Cup, remember how long they took to do it. This team messed up 4 high draft picks so I'm not sure many teams are going to try and replicate this model of a successful team knowing how likely it is to backfire and make a team more like Buffalo.
Remember Bowman is the GM. He'll probably make some stupid move in the offseason whether or not they win which will saddle them further preventing their chances of competing again in the future.

Not that any of this matters, but Edmonton does have more Canadians and a couple less Americans (didn't count guys who haven't played in the playoffs). It's no secret that Florida likes their Finns, and clearly Edmonton likes their Swedes, but after that, it's pretty much the same.
But really, there's nothing political about this series. This isn't the 4 nations tournament.

Don't have a good feeling this time around.. Florida this is your most important assignment yet. Any sliver of good will I have left for Chucky will be gone if they lose this.

Setting aside the 100M+ dead people that group is responsible for…
You have Stalin and Hitler on the same line, and with Hitler at centre.
Would never work.

I’m not planning on watching any of this. If the Panthers jump out to a 2-0 or 3-0 series lead, then maybe I’ll tune in for a game or two. But this is the worst timeline ever, and I just don’t have the stomach for it.

Anyone But Edmonton. Forever and always.
My brain says Edmonton wins; my heart says Panthers. McDavid's playoff isn't as dominant as last year, so I think for him to win Conn Smythe, Oilers have to win.
Hoping Bobo shuts the door like his countryman did to another Alberta team in the SCF nigh on 21 years ago.

Agree with this 100%
IF the Panthers can play their game and stay relatively healthy, I am quite confident they will win again.
If they don't play their game - whether that's full credit to the Oilers for shutting them down or whether it's the Panthers going AWOL/losing bodies - then the Oilers will probably take it. Puke.

This proves a team can coast in the regular season and rest players to prepare for playoffs. Neither of these teams dominated during the season but they’re here because they’re the best teams. Should be a great series.

Blech, I think Edmonton might be bringing the cup back this year.
How dismal.
The darkest timeline continues.

Panthers are at least Calgary's team, so I'm cheering for them. Please please don't roll over like the other 3 teams did. There is no way Skinner should be getting multiple shut outs in the playoffs.

Flames_Gimp would have wanted me to predict a Panthers' sweep so Panthers in four.

The Panthers have a bad habit of taking their feet off the gas when they think it's safe. You'd think that last year's SCF would have taught them a lesson, but they kind of did the same thing twice this year (Game 6 vs. TOR; Games 4-5 vs. CAR). The difference is that they were able to turn it on again and neither the Leafs nor the 'Canes had an answer when they did.
Regardless, it won't be safe at any point in this year's series. I'll say Oilers in 6, but I won't be surprised if it's a sweep.
