There is nothing good about a buffet.
|
I went to a Chinese restaurant about 5 minutes before the lunch buffet was scheduled to end. I took a look at the leavings and rock hard chicken balls and figured that I would order off the menu.
I ordered a combo plate and then watched the waitress go to the buffet and just put the food on my plate from the buffet. I rarely ever complain at restaurants but I had to say something then. Why would I pay for menu prices if I wanted buffet food?
On food, I hate mixing sweet and savory. Pineapple on pizza, berries in salads, raisins in bread... My in-laws put cheese on apple pie. I think it's a French thing.
Or pickles on hamburgers. It just overwhelms the flavours of everything else.

The waitress acted really confused and I just said forget it, I will have the buffet. Then I had diarrhea.

The problem with a lot of these systems (especially nav) is that most of them are relatively old tech as soon as you buy them, and often functionally obsolete by the time you sell them (if you're keeping it for 5+ years). Personally, the last thing I want in my car is old tech that I dont use but may have to replace.
|
So you think people spend 2k plus extra because they want to know directions? Navigation system adds value and it makes the car look nicer.
Look at any car on the used market right now. The difference between the same car with navigation and one without is not in the hundreds.

I worked with a Chinese guy years ago who said he would never eat at a Chinese buffet because he claimed that they would just scrape the leftovers off people's plates back into the buffet. Urban legend or does anybody know any truth to that?

I'm on board with this, except for Daredevil. I even avoided it for a little bit cause I thought all the superhero shows were dumb.
I really enjoyed it when I did watch it though, and am very excited for the next season.

Some Chinese people may not do the same things as other Chinese people.

There's a place in Phoenix called the Queen Creek Olive Mill ( https://www.queencreekolivemill.com/) where they grow their own olives and make their own olive products (oils, different types of stuffed olives). If you're ever down there it is a must visit. They make these mesquite smoked olives stuffed with blanched marcona almonds... it's not even fair how good these things taste.

I was somewhere in the 7-10 year old range myself. Not sure what excuses other people have.

Costco - cannot stand this place and I don't get the attraction to the value of buying an industrial sized ketchup bottle that will last 18 months, let alone getting two in a super value pac. You will spend more money on the heating the space that it will be stored in over that period.
The color beige - Beige colour schemes in homes are the scourge of the earth.
Wal-Mart and the Wal-Mart mentality of cheapest possible price. Buy something cheap - replace it in two years, lather, rinse, repeat.
Wine.
Wine memes on Facebook
The Big Bang Theory - it is just plain stupid.
More of a Gear Grinder - crappy attempts at Christmas Lights - take the time and do it right, my OCD does not have time to see your droppy half stapled attempt.

My sister worked at a diner when she was in high school and told me that when they were busy, their boss would re-heat uneaten fries and send them back out with different orders. So yeah, I think it does happen at some restaurants in general.
I also know a girl who used to work at a Dairy Queen and cut her hand badly on a can of chocolate syrup while opening it. The manager asked if she had any blood diseases and she said no, and he just stirred the blood into the chocolate and they used it.

I served at a Chinese restaurant for a few months back in my college days, they didn't scrape leftovers back in. They would reuse items left in the buffet for other items the next day (ie. chicken wings meat was picked off and used in the chicken balls or egg rolls)

I dont mind the Beatles. But I dont have any albums, havent downloaded their any if their music, and havent played a streaming music channel that has had a Beatles song. About the only time I listen to a Beatles song is if its on the radio in the backrgound where Im out somewhere or if I turn on the radio on a road trip trying to listen to some local content (small town stations seem to live the Beatles).
|
I'm 30 and I love the Beatles. I have most of the records on vinyl and listen to them pretty regularly - especially the later ones. I've seen McCartney live twice now and he still puts on a great show.
