Stuff everybody likes, but you hate.
I've tried to get into Harry Potter for my kids. I've seen two of the movies, but every single second watching them was painful. I have all the book tapes and I tried to listen to them on a road trip this weekend and couldn't do it. They seem terrible to me. I hate the writing style, I hate the story, I don't like Harry, I don't like the made up dumb-ass words, I don't anything about it.
I like that Harry Potter was rejected by " loads" of publishers before it was published. People are always like who would have passed on Harry Potter?! Me. I still would pass. I generally think people who love Harry Potter are idiots (not including kids).
Anything out there the majority of people seem to like that you can't stand?

Heeeeeerre we go, Sliver thread! Starting off mild with Harry Potter hate, eh? I actually agree that it is over rated. By the third movie, I was thinking, geeze, this seams just like the first 2. Wait, it's how long? Ugh....

I would just like to say, before this really gets rolling, that we are all entitled to our opinions of subjective things. And insulting people in the first post for liking something you don't, isn't a great start. Hate Harry Potter all you want, there's no need to call the people who like it idiots. If you started with the first few books/movies, as an adult, you won't like it, guaranteed. the 3rd is the first decent book, same with the movies. They really grew with the audience, the first few are very adolescent fun and the last few get more detailed and darker.
For me: Avocado. I hate it. I don't want it as guacamole, I don't want it in my salad, I don't want it on my sandwich, I don't want it anywhere.

OK, mine. Seafood. Everyone is like how can you not like lobster? "I dunno, it just tastes fishy. I don't like fishy taste". Oh, then you have to try such and such a fish. Totally not fishy. But then I taste it and it tastes like fish. Maybe I'm just a super-taster for fish. Whatever it is, I don't like it, but I have to go through the same fricken routine, trying it and concluding that no, I just don't like it.

Fun, energetic rock and roll...but all the songs sound the same to me and I don't like the singers voice. Plus it's overplayed on the radio, sporting events, movies etc.

Sushi. And I always get labelled some uncultured savage because I don't like it. It has become the everyman's one upper topic. You eat at Kinjo once every 2 months and all of a sudden you're a food connoisseur. #### off. It is always some BS about how it's an acquired taste for fancy palates for it or I'm squeamish or some other stupid bull####. How about I just don't like it?

Old classic movies (<1999).
Yes, even the original Star Wars. Only saw it in bits and pieces and never a whole movie in one sitting...I just can't get into the older movies. Too cheesy and awkward dialogue.

Agree with everything above (except the idiot part). Barely mad eit though the first movie. Haven't seen the rest.
Sushi is a food I just don't get. I will eat it if it's served but by no means do I enjoy it.
And scotch. Never have acquired the taste.
