They can’t and don’t unless they’re the only option to sign with which I can confirm isn’t true.

Only reason Vegas would be in it would be because Andersson will re sign there and the return will be a bit more.
Flames are known for treating players right but just the same way he didn’t get moved to Vegas in the past year, because the assets aren’t good enough for the return the Flames need, I can’t see that having changed now in the middle of a season.
Hopefully Conroy just using Vegas as leverage to the other interested teams.

I am very curious what the Sharks may have offered. They have the assets to blow away the Bruins offer even at the "just a rental" price. They also have way more cap space to offer Andersson a bigger extension.
GMMG would have to really cheap out to not be able to beat a 2026 1st, 2020 2nd, and 2022 2nd. At which point, if he is being that cheap then I hope they stay stuck in the mushy middle for 10 years because their D group never grows beyond bargain bin defenders (or it costs them a devastating haul to get the second best RD choice).

Has the makings of a good rebuild GM but they need someone to make bigger moves to compete. They need to start trading for now pieces in my eyes. Also can’t see what better RD there will be soon for them. Hamilton will be a mistake if they go that route even though it’s cheaper

All of the pundits are just throwing dirt in the air right now. If they are right, it will be pointed out. If not - down the memory hole it goes.
As for Andersson playing, it’s a 1 PM start so that makes it slightly more likely IMO. As long as there’s two bidders he plays.

Maybe it includes a roster player like Dorofeyev.

whatever happens, thanks to Sec, Royle, Diss and OILFAN (sorry if I missed anybody else!) for sharing the things they've heard. Things can always change and go in a different direction, but it's still fun to hear that stuff and I appreciate it.

Any second on that broadcast that can be filled with actual content is one less second for Ron to wax poetic about the “fibre of this game being woven into our national landscape” and so and so’s great auntie Petunia, who still hand knits helmet covers for the local U7 team while watching in the stands. He’s such a pretentious windbag, I’m sure everyone on the panel must roll their eyes when he’s on about this nonsense.

Stienberg was throwing out Hemming and ‘27 1st from Dallas would do it in his books.
That would get it done for me too. Depends if Raz would sign there, I suppose. Honestly, if Dallas doesn’t address their RHS D, that’s a failure with how close they are to winning a cup. Andersson has to be the best available option. Get it done, Nill. They need to get their best offer on the table, now.

Don’t get this at all really. He’s mostly added futures and seems to be fine rebuilding

Lots of bet hedging and vagueries thrown around so people can maintain claim to insider knowledge regardless of how it goes down.
We’ll see how it turns out, but I can at very least respect folks making detailed, concrete claims, as at that point there’s no hiding.

I was really underwhelmed by Hemming at the WJC. I'd happily take an A winger over a B center, but I don't necessarily saw that with Hemming.

If he does play today and if any of you are going to the game I hope someone has a THANK YOU ANDERSSON sign at the glass during warm up.
