Many have said it. Kadri has dropped off heavily since Christmas. If he isn’t getting shipped then that is a big mistake. He clearly has one foot out.
Coleman would be the one I would keep if we had to pick one. But I’d rather try and work out a package to Montreal for both where we get a Hage that can come in and play next year.

There’s definitely legs to CGY and BOS speaking late into the night, but I’m told it wasn’t a done deal, signed sealed and delivered.
Probably not ideal that pieces got leaked so early, reminds me of the Markstrom situation where he was asked to waive and then the trade fell through so he sat in limbo until the summer and felt slighted by CGY.
Not the same this time around on our end, Rasmus knows he’s moving as it’s his decision, but the BOS pieces now in limbo as the deal wasn’t done last night.

There was an experiment. A bunch of pigeons in 3 cages, each cage with one button.
In cage 1, each time a pigeon pecked the button, the bird received a treat. Naturally, the bird only picked the button when it wanted a treat.
In cage 2, the button never released a treat and so the birds never pecked.
In cage 3, when the button was pecked it only randomly released a treat, and those birds pecked the f### out of that button.
I feel like I'm in cage 3 with this rumour.

Would Montreal do 1st 2026 + Zharovsky + Gallagher (dump 1yr left at 6.5MM after this) for Naz?
Gallagher used to be the heartbeat and leader of that team during their tear down. Now that hes lost a couple steps - seems like he is irrelevant (although I dont follow MTL closely). Then trade Coleman to the highest bidder next year.

Now add any BOS to CGY conditions…

Pretty sure the expectation was to always be bad for 3-5 years with the complete lack of focus on trading good players for existing good players.
|
No it’s not the young guys.
When the selling off of Zadorov and Lindholm and others a few years back with the “do you want to be here or not” ultimatum all players got, the mandate of the team and him was to have use the returns and cap space to almost immediately start building an up and coming team (taking some picks and flipping them for young decent players - similar to Frost Farabee but a bit more significant) that would be exciting to watch and poised to take the next step when the new building opened in 4+ years.
Sure, guys like Bahl too have been good for the return from Markstrom. But Conroy expected more of those and other things to occur too since he took over, and, they haven’t. He has missed out on free agents (ones he would keep and ones he would flip), has had trades fall through and generally not been able to do what he thought he was going to do in this time frame since he took over.
Now 18 months from the new building and he’s well behind that schedule (not through lack of trying, but still). So any major moves have extra significance to bring back the proper type of returns.

Suspect it’s the other end. Calgary has always been very tight-lipped. It’s the culture.

I don’t think Kadri gets that much. I think the Flames should be targeting Kapanen.
To MTL
Kadri ($2MM retained)
To CGY
Kapanen
Anderson

Push all they want, but Anderson only picking one, so the push better be better contract to extend..............otherwise were not going to be very happy and Vegas can screw off!

Its hard to understand how vegas is still in it, they just dont have comparable assets to any of rhe other teams and they would have to pay a premium given trading him there likely costs the flames a few draft slots with the vegas pick they hold

I don't see how Vegas could possibly compete with the other three from an asset standpoint. Ras must be keeping them in play by being willing to sign long term there.

Well if LV is the only place RA will re-sign, could see the LV offer being closer to the rental offers from others?
