Early life
Lohrei was born in Baton Rouge while his father, David, was head coach of the East Coast Hockey League's Baton Rouge Kingfish. He moved with his family as a child first to Pennsylvania and then Wisconsin where he grew up.[1] He attended Middleton High School in Middleton, Wisconsin but transferred after his freshman year to Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana. As a sophomore at Culver, he made the decision to switch from forward to defense in order to get more playing time.[2]

Play it out.

You are looking at things like your own 1st this year, Parekh or maybe a guy like Gridin, but I doubt he gets it done.

Maybe Rasmus + Coronato? But I doubt it.

Prying away a young core player from a team just opening its contention window isn't going to be easy.

I think the Calgary #1st this year would have similar but lesser value. So Andersson + 26 1st for Misa + Oilers 26 1st?

Danielson was OK but wasn't really lighting it up in the AHL last year. This year he was PPG there and has 7 points in 28 games in the NHL. Bysted and Musty haven't played in the NHL at all, but they are leading their AHL team this year, FWIW.

Danielson is the better prospect, but it's not double the better prospect.

I agree, but since none of them have broken out into the NHL in a meaningful way their draft positions still matter.

If someone proposed a Danielson for Bystedt trade, I expect most people would respond that the Sharks would need to add Musty (or more) to make it happen.

From a Flames perspective, if one offer is Danielson and a 1st then the other is Bystedt and a 1st and a roster player.... that roster player needs to be a good value. Graf probably makes the most sense as the other players we would be interested in wouldn't be packaged up with other parts.

The problem with trading our own pick is that we will be substantially weakening the roster at the same time. I think it makes it untouchable, can't be in a scenario where we trade away pick 1 no matter what.

But, I agree with the general concept of adding. I previously suggested something like Rasmus+Mews+Coronato (or maybe Gridin) for Misa, but still think it's very unlikely.
