Should be an exciting weekend for people who like trades... For me I just want it to not be Dallas or Vegas. Unless Dallas steps up and includes Bichsel I'm not a huge fan of what they have to offer. And Vegas also has garbage assets and in general can just get ####ed.

If you are talking about a Misa for example, SJ isn't changing him from untouchable simply because the Flames add a late first round pick. Because they know he will be a player.

Maybe if it was both Bystedt and Musty they could combine into Danielson... but in the draft no one would buy the idea of trading 9 for 26 and 27.

Yes, but as time goes on draft position matters less.

Danielson was OK but wasn't really lighting it up in the AHL last year. This year he was PPG there and has 7 points in 28 games in the NHL. Bysted and Musty haven't played in the NHL at all, but they are leading their AHL team this year, FWIW.

Danielson is the better prospect, but it's not double the better prospect.

Good thing teams didn’t discount that collection of late 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks as nothing more than 2nd/3rd line/pairing guys or they would have looked really stupid.

Agreed, if I was to create more of a tier list it would be this:

Tier 1: SJ & Detroit
Tier 2: LA & Boston
Tier 3: Dallas.
FU Tier: Vegas

I am with you! Diss said that early last summer and to this day I still hope it is true. Andersson + Vegas 1st for Misa!!

But I expect Andersson will return a package of lesser parts and then we'll have to hold out hope that one of them lucks out... strategies built on luck are the best, right?

Play it out.

You are looking at things like your own 1st this year, Parekh or maybe a guy like Gridin, but I doubt he gets it done.

Maybe Rasmus + Coronato? But I doubt it.

Prying away a young core player from a team just opening its contention window isn't going to be easy.

Rough plane ride if Rasmus is taking calls/texts giving his agent feedback on teams and proposals with the rest of the team around.

But pretty cool "inside the trade" type story in a couple months. This whole thing would be fascinating to see how it came together. Reporters, do your thing!
