Lots of Davis Schneider naysayers before Game 5, which is silly going against a lefty.
Even if Davis hadn’t hit that first pitch he saw for a dinger, you have to trust the odds.
You always have Lukes to pinch hit if he was needed.
The Jays need to get to Yamamoto in the first 4 innings and put this away in Game 6.

It's awesome too look back at this game and realize it was over on the 3rd pitch.

Purely randomly, it should be 75% (the trailing team has a 50% chance in each game, so 25%). So 67% is really low, and 74% for the team going back home, is almost shockingly low.

I mean even if you lose game 6 you can’t let him go complete game. You have to work that bullpen.

Actually Ficher’s p=0.03 so assuming standard alpha of 0.05 that does meet colloquial significance

I've been a Jays fan since 1987 and I can honestly tell you that I've never enjoyed watching a team as much as I have this team.
They're so likable and you can see how they play for each other. The Jays teams back in 92-93 were fantastic, don't get me wrong, but they were also the highest salary teams those two years.
This team is such a good story and win or lose will be my favorite team I've watched in over 30 years.

Also only since 1985 when the LCS went to best of 7.

Plus Davis Schneider is awesome. He should play more, and the reason is he makes big hits in big spots.

Yeah, that surprised me as well. Polymarket has the Jays at 68% favourites now, which seems a bit low to me but is maybe the Yamamoto effect.
Personally, my favourite part of the last few games has been the inning where Dave Roberts leaves his tired starter in for just one more, then he gets in a jam and gets pulled anyway, leaving the bullpen in a tough spot where the promptly #### the bed and the Jays get multiple runs.
I'm hoping Roberts remembers that happening to and Yamamoto gets an early hook. Or not, and he gets in a jam and we do it again would be fine as well

I really think the starter/reliever model is broken. I think a lefty opener could pitch 2 innings every second game (which is a starter-like 162 innings per year) and add huge value. Never more than once through the order, pitch at max effort, and make lineup construction harder for your opponents.

Agreed. Or a different perspective. I have never been a Jays fans. I have always disliked them. So as long as you have been a fan, I have been an anti fan. I guess because I was always an Exoos fan, I don't know.
Anyway, I love this team. It's impossible not to love them. I am more engaged in these playoffs than I ever have been. And as much as I dislike Toronto in general, I so hope they get this done Friday. Go Jays
