Jumping the gun here, you missed the part where they use their previous manipulation to try to get us to thank them.

The cost is "estimated" and they used the highest estimate they could find. This way, when it turns out to be cheaper, they get to brag about how they have saved Albertans money by securing doses for $85 instead of $110.

#### the ####ing UCP

Quote:
A statement from Minister of Primary and Preventive Health Services Adriana LaGrange's office this week said the decision still offers protection to vulnerable Albertans, and takes low uptake of the vaccine by the general population into account.

And while Lagrange's office said the province was informed by NACI's recommendations on vaccines, it decided not to offer free vaccines to a number of high risk, priority groups that NACI identifies because of "Alberta's specific needs," such as uptake trends.
Weird how uptake is low when we have the ####ing anti-vax party in charge. Measles and Covid capital of Canada, congratulations Alberta, we're the ####ing greatest.

That’s why I joined as a petitioner. Who wants to sign my petition?

Imagine what Alison Redford, who was removed for letting her 12 year old and a friend onto government flights with her, is thinking right now.

I made a petition to hopefully get some attention and remove the costs of the vaccine. Even though it'll be most likely just ignored like everything in this province. I can't post it on Reddit but if anyone wants to spread the word that would be great.

A cynical view is that they expect a lot more people to pre-book(consider how easy it is) than get it. This builds to next year, when they say they still wasted a bunch because they ordered what was requested by the public that didn't get them. This furthers their agenda to remove access.

I guess I'm just not sure why anyone would give them the benefit of any doubt on this file, considering all their public statements and actions on vaccines to date. At some point you just need to trust their record.

The townhall bursts into an 'Amen.'

Modry says that PM Mark Carney is more dangerous than Trudeau, and the room cheered in response.

One audience member yells "he's evil."

He defines sovereignty as freedom from persecution, such as religious and economic persecution. "If we save Alberta we may save the rest of Canada."

"Every 16 year old who votes liberal will have it through their head, 'All I have to do is vote Liberal, and the day I turn 17, I can drop out of high school...the government's going to give me $2,000 a month to sit around the house, smoke legal marijuana and play video games,'" Rath said.

Rath said Carney's energy future for Canada includes an energy corridor that will "suck CO2 out of the air that we would otherwise need for our plants and our forests and our crops and everything else...the only pipeline we're going to get is this liquid CO2 pipeline."

The feds don't believe "this climate change nonsense," Rath says. He cited a Princeton professor to argue climate change is "one of the greatest cons" in human history. He said the entire Canadian government is structured around "moronic, scientifically unsound ideas."

He added Alberta has a bright economic future, and in year 1 of an independent Alberta, the province would be left with a $30-50 billion fiscal surplus.

Sylvestre quotes Danielle Smith who said "I thought I would fix everything in 6 or 7 months. But everything is broken." Sylvestre says the deep state makes things hard to fix. He says Carney has had 103 ethics violations so far, making him a criminal above the law.

Rath had to leave because he wasn't feeling well.

These people are ####ing insane. I hear we are building some forced mental health treatment facilities, I think we've found their first residents.

How do you reason with people who clearly live in a completely separate plane of existence from normal people?

What absolute wackjobs

Easy, you give them a platform and empower them to speak up. Maybe even elect them into office.

Appeasement works, right?

My favourite lie was Rath’s: Alberta would be wealthy with an annual surplus of $30-$50 billion. Or maybe it was the speaker who asserted that investing his own CPP contributions would provide an income of $6,000 a month.

I can’t decide.

Goddamnit. Gerrymandering should be illegal unless it's dually approved by the ruling party and the official opposition. Which means it'll never happen, of course.

Bunch of malarkey.
Of the 197 written submissions to the commission there are 17 which came from people who can easily be identified with an affiliation to provincial politics (MLAs, former MLAs and individuals involved with constituencies.) 9 were UCP or former PC and 8 were NDP. 6 Submissions came from active UCP MLAs and 5 from active NDP MLAs.

The redistribution is done by a bipartisan commission. There are two UCP appointees and two NDP appointees.

Ah, didn't know that! Thought it was similar to the US-style of gerrymandering.

The UCP deserve no good faith trust on this.
