The cost is "estimated" and they used the highest estimate they could find. This way, when it turns out to be cheaper, they get to brag about how they have saved Albertans money by securing doses for $85 instead of $110.

A statement from Minister of Primary and Preventive Health Services Adriana LaGrange's office this week said the decision still offers protection to vulnerable Albertans, and takes low uptake of the vaccine by the general population into account.

And while Lagrange's office said the province was informed by NACI's recommendations on vaccines, it decided not to offer free vaccines to a number of high risk, priority groups that NACI identifies because of "Alberta's specific needs," such as uptake trends.

Weird how uptake is low when we have the ####ing anti-vax party in charge. Measles and Covid capital of Canada, congratulations Alberta, we're the ####ing greatest.

Much like your video game example if you get people to commit early you end up selling more games and have better plan for production volumes. It also works as early advertising for vaccines as we are talking about them 2-3 months early. (Not that this is the goal of this particular government)

A cynical view is that they expect a lot more people to pre-book(consider how easy it is) than get it. This builds to next year, when they say they still wasted a bunch because they ordered what was requested by the public that didn't get them. This furthers their agenda to remove access.

I guess I'm just not sure why anyone would give them the benefit of any doubt on this file, considering all their public statements and actions on vaccines to date. At some point you just need to trust their record.

Sylvestre quotes Danielle Smith who said "I thought I would fix everything in 6 or 7 months. But everything is broken." Sylvestre says the deep state makes things hard to fix. He says Carney has had 103 ethics violations so far, making him a criminal above the law.

Of the 197 written submissions to the commission there are 17 which came from people who can easily be identified with an affiliation to provincial politics (MLAs, former MLAs and individuals involved with constituencies.) 9 were UCP or former PC and 8 were NDP. 6 Submissions came from active UCP MLAs and 5 from active NDP MLAs.

The redistribution is done by a bipartisan commission. There are two UCP appointees and two NDP appointees.
