Thanks, Royle.
I hope Conroy learns a deep lesson here.

You're suggesting there isn't a fairly sizeable contingent that isn't impatient and doesn't use hindsight?
If that's true ... sure strawman. If it isn't true and there is that contingent then not a strawman at all.

This is quite hilarious. Bingo starts a hockey forum so Flames fans can have a discussion.
Flames fans get into discussion with different opinions = Bingo getting annoyed and painting posters as "whiners" and "impatient"

Man, compared to literally any other Canadian fanbase, this thread is unbelievably tame.
I don't see all caps posts. I don't see posters calling for people to be fired.
I see people who are communicating that they are disappointed in what seems to be a common result for this organization.
I just don't understand posts like this. Like any discontent towards the actions of this organization is met with ridicule. It's just weird.

Is that an attempt to mock at the beginning?
But fine I'll retract out rage (though not sure it's not fitting).
How about reflex to find fault in something that may just be?

Rasmus becoming the villain was an easy step. He foreshadowed it with his end of season press availability.
It's so fitting that the guy who should be the largest trade chip in recent flames history would hamstring the Flames put of a proper return. Yes, he isn't obliged to sign an extension with any acquiring team but at least provide some options so the Flames can get something.
Hamstringing the Flames to deal with only Vegas is a massive middle finger. And I hate him for it. Can't get traded fast enough.

Now that Ekblad is signed, the smart thing for Conroy to do is to let the UFA dust settle tomorrow, and hold teams that missed out on their UFA's over the barrel in terms of assets coming back. If it needs to be with a team that can't extend, so be it. As others have mentioned, those teams will still probably have a better offer than what Vegas can give up for an extended Andersson.
And from seeing how Connie operates, I bet that's exactly what he's doing right now.

Bit of both.
The writing on the wall is pretty clear, and I don't imagine Craig's too fond of being backed into a corner (again) and put in a Hanifin 2.0 scenario.

Attempt to mock? Just pointing out that maybe we're just reading the same posts and interpreting them differently, for whatever reason.

That’s fair, IMO. You’re probably right about that (seeking to find fault). But in this instance, it’s warranted no?

Might more be with Andersson's agent than Ras himself, but the point still stands. Business ultimately will trump good feelings.

Andersson isn’t hamstringing any more than Hanifin did. The Flames can still just sell him as a pure rental. Conroy painted himself into a corner on this one.

100%
I've been blocking all opinions that differ from my own for roughly 28 years.
Amazing people keep coming back.
I haven't block listed anyone at any point in my time here. I welcome discussion.
Doesn't mean I can't get frustrated with the pitchfork crew once in a while.

Set an auction and move on. Just trade him for the best return this summer and focus on the players that are here. Learn that you can’t let teams negotiate with players to get an extension as a rule moving forward. It appears that Matthew was rare in willing to be fair with the Flames.

I said it back then too-- management was NOT very happy with him at all.

Yeahhhhh that comment felt weird. Not shocked management didn't like it

Now you're moving the goalposts.
You said people that wanted a trade were impatient. Yu were called on it, and now you're saying there are some impatient posters. Of course there are - always. But you should probably let this one go.
