I don't understand people getting mad at Andersson. He can choose to sign where ever he wants.

I wish we would have been more proactive and shopped him last year before he was on his final year of his contract. But it is what it is at this point.

But to get mad at the player in this situation is crazy.

Probably got a call from Hanifin unofficially to sell him on coming there. Watch there not be an extension too, if he gets traded and then he signs an extension in a month.

If I am Andersson, and saw my good buddy and partner Hanifin getting traded there and winning a cup, I would want to join them. Ditto for Tkachuk and Bennett in Florida too. Plus, this is the one time in his career when he is able to use his leverage. Just hopefully some other teams step up and give him reason to accept some other offers too.

I don't think you're thinking this through. Put yourself in Conroy's shoes - this is his job, full time. He has a large team of people supporting him. They have been working on this for months. They are not basing everything on a single statement, and simply sitting there waiting for the phone to ring.

If you were Conroy, what would you be doing right now?

I’m not freaking out. I just listened to 32 Thoughts and Friedman’s talk about Andersson’s leverage and tried to think up ways the Flames could regain leverage. This is fun for me.
