Personally I don't think so. He's got limited control and is not carrying the team. They have to stay the course and build through the draft. Their compete window isn't now. It's in 4 years. Robertson isn't a piece that they need at the moment to carry them.

I was just going off the "young established player" part of the quote. Seems like he's the biggest name in the rumour circles that could match that

If Rasmus can be used to move up in the draft, IMO that is the best long term outcome for us. Anything (except Parekh and Wolf) for Misa.

Agreed, in my opinion the top 2 are locks as they are for sure stars, after that anything can happen. If I’m in the Isles or SJs position you can’t trade those picks unless it’s a significant overpayment.

I agree but he's not chopped liver either. He's an elite left wing no question. If the plan is to push this over the line to get a wild card spot then it makes a lot of sense. If they want to actually build a cup contender then it doesn't make sense at all as we still wont have an elite C and there goes our best chip to get one... It remains to be seen what Conroy's mandate is from above though. They probably factor in the probability that where they are picking the players most likely wont be as good as Robertson as well. However, If a top 5 pick is on the table they have to go that way for a C !!, if its not on the table...you could do a lot worse than a top 5 LWer in the league that's big and young.

2026 1st is off the table. Trading Andersson is a "tank" move. The rest of the list is enough.

I think Andersson+Zary+18 would be an interesting move because Zary can give them a forward they actually need (2nd line forward) which fits better than Misa who is going to want top line minutes and opportunity and not be the #4 guy in the forward group.

Exactly my thoughts as well. They need a young forward, we giving them multiple (Pospisil and Zary). Literally makes more sense than Misa for them right now because they have Smith in addition to Celebrini.

They could get value from having Misa and put Smith on the wing but they want to improve asap and start making progress, so why not get multiple players and a draft pick or two, than making the selection on Misa today.

I absolutely don't want to, but if that was the hang up on getting a deal for 2nd over the line, it has to be considered. But it would suck to give him up.
