Are you sure, have you talked to them? Do you know the offers, if any at all? Dallas is so dangerously close to the cap, they are likely doing their due diligence to consider all paths forward - especially considering they just signed Duchene yesterday.

Dallas is in tight, but Marchmant should be an easy clear. Bourque is prime target for 2nd round offer sheet. Have ti think they move him.
Have to think they try and move Dumba.
I'd take dumba+bourque for future considerations

Definitely take Dumba on if it means Bourque comes dirt cheap.

With the new offer sheet tiers, a team could offer Bourque $2.33M and only give the Stars a 3rd. Huge risk for the Stars.
With Duchene's signing, moving Dumba is not enough... Lyubushkin likely needs to go too just so the team can sign Lundkvist and enough league-minimum contracts to fill the roster.

And Dumba is from Calgary. Works for me!

Prob in the minority but with the McDavid comments I might think about seeing what I could get for him from NYR or TOR.
Shesterkin Fox unprotected 1st etc etc etc.

Fox forced to go to Edmonton would be good.

I think this is a pretty realistic way to get a young talent like Bourque while weaponizing our cap space

I think it makes sense as a 3-team trade and Dallas keeps Robertson.
Flames trade Coleman to Dallas for Seguin, Bourque and 1st in 2027
Flames trade Seguin to team that he is willing to waive to for a 2nd
Flames get Bourque, 1st and 2nd for Coleman, cap they lose is whatever Bourque signs for. 50% of Seguin is around the same as Coleman's deal.

I'll skip Bourque and take a pick for their cap dumps. Dumba, Seguin, whatever.

I think something around Robertson for the 4th overall is very interesting for both sides.
Dallas would essentially be swapping:
Robertson, Stankovin, 2 future 1sts
For
Rantanen+Frondell/Hagens/Martone
I think Dallas comes ahead depending who they would pick with the top 4 pick.
Adding a star like Robertson to Utah makes them a pretty dangerous team immediately

I like that deal for both sides but I guess the concern for Utah is that Robertson doesn't want to re-sign in Utah a year from now

That's insane, there is no way Conroy would even consider trading 2026 first round picks, considering this will be the McKenna year, no gm in their right might would trade 4 first round picks for the 2nd overall, not withstanding the fact those 2026 could be first overall. Last time time I remember a team trading that much was Lindros, and he was like elite generational at the time and first overall

He is at least still a RFA so there is some team control albeit not much since he would only be 1 year to free agency. In division makes it tough as well.
Would Dallas trade Robertson to Carolina for Stankovin and their 2 1sts back? Carolina is going to be star chasing this summer

Why is San Jose moving a top 2 pick for a veteran, a mid 1st and a prospect? Teams never trade top 2 picks so for it to happen it needs to be insane.
Not saying I would do that trade but if someone says do whatever it takes I think it takes an offer like that for the team with the worst record in the league to move their 2nd overall pick

Or a conditional 1st based on the acquiring team's playoff performance. How was Seguin in this year's playoffs? Would he be worth that price to a contender?

If I'm Dallas I'm moving Marchment, Dumba, and Lybushkin before I even think about trading Robertson.
Then after next year you tell Seguin waive the NMC or we buy you out most likely and move him when Robertson needs a raise.
Hintz, Johnston, Robertson, Rantanen, Heiskanen, Harley, Oettinger
That is the core, if I'm Dallas i'm not moving pieces out of that core with the cap rising.

Strictly speaking he'd have to waive the NMC for them to buy him out, so that threat lacks teeth.
