Despite the puck taking a lucky bounce that second goal wasn't a fluke. Rantanen got the puck at the red line, skated back then speed into the Avs zone splitting three defenders and cruising behind the net before attempting a wraparound. Yes it was a "fluke" and fortunate bounce but it was all his work up to that point to get the goal.
Empty net? They all count my man

The Rantanen trade wasn't the worst in itself, but it backfired once he got traded back to their biggest division rival:
And then they trade Ritchie and a 1st for Nelson which was a terrible trade the second it was made
|
Add injury to insult in the fact the return from Rantanen trade was Drury who took the brain dead penalty with 3 min left in the game!

Makar has two more seasons left on his current contract and the cap could be upwards of 110+ million by that summer based on projections.

Rantanen- case in point why you need legit elite talent to get over.
We ain’t signing a guy like that they have to be drafted here.
This year was fun but next two need to be full tank. Sorry Wolf ,we be hanging you out to dry for a bit here.

The second goal had some luck involved for sure but a lot of the time we do see these wrap-around goals go in even if the player can't curl it all the way in. Normally it's off the goaltender who's trying to come over to make the save but also sometimes off a defender. There are certainly a lot move flukier goals in hockey. Plus like you said, it was hell of a move to begin with.

When your second leading scorer is Logan O'Connor you have issues. Necas just 1 goal, Makar just 1 goal, Nelson 0 goals, Drouin 0 goals...

These playoffs in particular there seems to be a lot of these deflected in own goals. Colorado had two in game 6 and the game winner was a really odd one.
But I have to say that Raantenen really did come on strong at the end of the series and took over game 7 in the final 13 minutes of that game. Pretty impressive for them to win this series without Robertson and Heiskenan.

I should know this, but are Robertson and Heiskanan gone for the rest of the playoffs season?

According to Deboer, both should be back sometime in round 2
