We see vote splitting really mess things up in municipal elections as well. You have two similar candidates that align with the views of the majority, and they split votes and someone representing 30% of the people squeaks in.

Yeah, that's generally what I'm in favour of. It's what most EU countries do as well.

There are obviously downsides to PR, but I think it helps to de-polarize things a bit because people tend to feel like their vote actually counts.

Looks like Greg McLean will be re-elected in Calgary Centre. As far as conservatives go, he's not bad. Consistently pro-choice and pro-LGBT. I didn't vote for him but I'm not upset to see him continue.

Greg is the only reason I never voted Liberal.

His voting record aligns with my beliefs. He is also very quick to respond to any correspondence you send his way, either by e-mail or a phone call.

In the end, I voted for the man and not the party.
