This was a predictable loss for the Conservatives tonight, and yes, we do live in the best country in the world - but identifying issues and hoping for things to be better does not mean that person is being led astray by a foreign party.
To essentially say that those who are clamouring for change have been influenced by (or are) Russian bots minimizes real issues in this country that thousands of people are facing.

I think it's the vote splitting on the center and left that bothers a lot of people. Ideally, there should be multiple parties at the right, center, and left to choose from, but right now the right has a monopoly while the center and left compete against each other. The right of course dealt with that briefly during the Reform Party years.
But I agree, more viable choices is better than less. Then do what other parliamentary democracies do and form coalitions.

It would be political suicide, unless they ended up being such a great representative of their constituency that voters forgot forgave them.

New Westminster—Burnaby—Maillardville 102/193
CON Panchi, Indy 5,363 35.4%
LIB Sawatzky, Jake 5,093 33.7%
NDP Julian, Peter 4,321 28.6%
GRN Shushtarian, Tara 226 1.5%
IND Singh, Lourence Almonte 127 0.8%
Infuriating. There's no way someone should be able to win with such a low % of the vote when the entirety of the rest of the vote is for candidates who deeply disagree with him.

Cons sound so ungrateful, generally speaking.
You'd think we lived in azerbaijan or something with how they speak about the state of the country.
They should travel more and get some perspective. But in many cases you find they don't get out much, or touch a lot of grass. Just stew in their echo chambers. It's probably no wonder why they act the way they do (like threatened animals).
They should try living in a war-torn state with real tensions and suppression of rights. If they could stand being around the local culture in such a place long enough they'd probably come back Liberals.

I was really hoping Luhnau would pull out a win in Calgary Centre, it was looking so promising.

Unsure if you're referring to me, but no, I'm saying Thomas Mulcair sucks and he already did enough damage to the NDP when he took over post-Layton. That guy should stay doing whatever the hell it is he does now outside of politics, teaching and being an occasional political talking head.

I don't know if it is possible to safely say anything yet. Many of the southern Ontario/GTA ridings that have swung to the Conservatives are only showing ~80% of the polls reporting. Maybe there are still a lot of votes that can swing things?
