Either you don’t know what Fox News is or you don’t know what CTV News is. I’m unclear as to which area your profoundly mislead on.

Honestly though, why would you? These candidates are literally cannon fodder. Same in Shephard. I considered volunteering but bible thumper Tom had a 2 or 3 to 1 lead. Waste of time.

I get it because I'm in one of those ridings in Calgary. It is still important to vote to show your disapproval of the likely winner.

I mean it'll be great to have a cabinet minister from Calgary but even if they lose every seat in Alberta they will still get a majority govt.

That’s unlikely.

If they lose all the Alberta seats it suggests their popularity has cratered cross country and lose a lot more than just the Alberta seats. You are in minority territory possible even a conservative minority with 0 Alberta seats.

Well on 338 right now, if the Libs win 0 seats in AB they will still have a majority govt with 181 seats.

That also includes 20 billion in tariff revenue this year alone that may not even be a thing depending on what the orange idiot decides to do next. Also depends on them finding tens of billions in "increased efficiency". So likely we'll see an additional 300+ billion in debt by the time the dust settles.

May not vote for the first time ever.
There are only two choices for who can win. Unfortunately there's not going to be some perfect choice who falls from the sky in the next week, so the unavoidable reality is that either Carney or Poilievre will be the next PM.

Given that reality, I think it's fair to look at these two and ask ourselves which one is the better option for the next 4 years. Do we want to take the country in a direction similar to the one the US has gone down? Or do we want a sensible, level-headed man to lead us as we deal with the challenges facing us right now?

Do we want a career politician who relies on simplistic sloganeering and obsesses over Justin Trudeau and the past 10 years? That's not what I want. I want a leader whose eyes are focused on the future, and has a real plan to move us forward.

Do we want to embrace far-right extremism? I hope not. I hope we prefer to take a balanced approach to solving our problems.

Do we want our Charter rights to be circumvented? I hope not. As a country, I hope we understand that we can't solve our problems by reacting to them in impulsive ways.

Perhaps most importantly of all, do we want a PM who shares much of his ideology with Donald Trump? I hope we're better than that. I hope we choose a man who stands up for Canada against the threats facing us, while also standing up for the things that makes our country great in the first place: we look out for one another, we protect the environment, and we understand that, as Canadians, we are all in this together.

Yes we will have budget deficits in the coming years, but the reality is it's unavoidable regardless of whether Carney or PP wins the election. They are both promising tax cuts, combined with ambitious plans to tackle our housing crisis and boost defense spending, and that means big deficits no matter who the PM is. If anything, the deficits will be larger under Poilievre's plan, due to larger tax cuts. Between the two, Carney is the one with the financial know-how to get us on a better fiscal long-term path.

So with all this in mind, I hope that you'll take this election as an opportunity to reject PP and his dangerous agenda, and vote for the one person who can stop him from sending this country down a very dark path.

If they lose support in Alberta, it's an indicator that they're losing support nation-wide. It's important that they win some seats here.

Calgary has missed out on having the Energy Minister in a Liberal gov at least once and probably a few times. I hate that.

Instead we get shadow cabinet ministers that can earn a tidy salary all the while hiding all year long, doing next to nothing, and getting a pension when it's all over to boot.

Red, blue, orange they are all the same. The gov machine is big and moves slowly. No one leader can bend it to their will as much as they say they can.

Put the dogma away and get some representation in the government. Taht would put some of this separatist talk to bed, too.

I think most Canadians see this as anyone > polievre > trudeau

So I hope at least a few AB ridings elect a Liberal.

I’d expect you to have a myopic view that makes simple math like that seem correct.

LOL. How hard is it to understand that on April 28th if we take away all of the AB seats the Libs will still have a majority govt?

I mean it would be great if we can oust that human waste of a person in Michelle Rempel so we can get a cabinet minister from Calgary. But the deplorable lemmings in Edgemont will not give her up.

Again that is a myopic view that suits your simplistic viewpoints.

Were the Linerals to lose Calgary McKnight it’s highly unlikely they form a majority government.

Have either of them spoke of plans to entice educated workforce from the USA to
come across the border? Seems like such a perfect time to poach as many as possible right now. Or would that be more of a provincial initiative?
