F*** Trump.
Which he's also wrong about (made up or doesn't understand how databases work).

Well if you want to add all the context the database he is looking at isn’t actually people being paid social security when their dead. It’s not an issue.

I’m really not trying to defend the guy but there were reports under Biden by the social security inspector general which identified about 19 million people born in 1920 or earlier who didn't have any death data on file - 44,000 of whom were still receiving social security benefits.

The report was triggered by calls to better maintain claimant records, after the Social Security Administration in 2021 estimated some 24,000 people received payments by the agency after death, amounting to almost $300m.

I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone there is a bunch of government I efficiencies that should be tackled. Governments don’t exactly have a great track record of running lean or efficiently.

Dude, that was totally debunked. Elon just didn't understand the database.

Considering there are over 100,000 centenarians at any given time in the US (and increasing every day), the fact that 44,000 people born 1920 or earlier were receiving benefits in 2021 is hardly surprising.

Am I missing something?

It’s covered in the article. They recover much of it each year,

What do you think the accuracy of Social Secuity payments should be?

Even in the face of theirs and their family's quality of life declining with these program cuts and increased costs, as long as they can live to see the those darn uptight, educated people be miserable too, any price is worth it.

These people are who the modern world has sheltered from natural selection. But they're hellbent on getting there anyways.

He is big mad this morning while the Dow freefalls again

@realDonaldTrump

Based on Ontario, Canada, placing a 25% Tariff on “Electricity” coming into the United States, I have instructed my Secretary of Commerce to ad an ADDITIONAL 25% Tariff, to 50%, on all STEEL and ALUMINUM COMING INTO THE UNITED STATES FROM CANADA, ONE OF THE HIGHEST TARIFFING NATIONS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. This will go into effect TOMORROW MORNING, March 12th. Also, Canada must immediately drop their Anti-American Farmer Tariff of 250% to 390% on various U.S. dairy products, which has long been considered outrageous. I will shortly be declaring a National Emergency on Electricity within the threatened area. This will allow the U.S to quickly do what has to be done to alleviate this abusive threat from Canada. If other egregious, long time Tariffs are not likewise dropped by Canada, I will substantially increase, on April 2nd, the Tariffs on Cars coming into the U.S. which will, essentially, permanently shut down the automobile manufacturing business in Canada. Those cars can easily be made in the USA! Also, Canada pays very little for National Security, relying on the United States for military protection. We are subsidizing Canada to the tune of more than 200 Billion Dollars a year. WHY??? This cannot continue. The only thing that makes sense is for Canada to become our cherished Fifty First State. This would make all Tariffs, and everything else, totally disappear. Canadians taxes will be very substantially reduced, they will be more secure, militarily and otherwise, than ever before, there would no longer be a Northern Border problem, and the greatest and most powerful nation in the World will be bigger, better and stronger than ever — And Canada will be a big part of that. The artificial line of separation drawn many years ago will finally disappear, and we will have the safest and most beautiful Nation anywhere in the World — And your brilliant anthem, “O Canada,” will continue to play, but now representing a GREAT and POWERFUL STAE within the greatest nation the world has ever seen.

So, are they finally going to understand down there that the annexation thing isn't a joke? He's very clearly saying it now.

So Trumps response to Ford putting an export tax on electricity, which Americans pay, is to put higher import taxes on steel & aluminum, which Americans will pay. He really is the dumbest mother####er to ever hold office

Also, putting tariffs on cars to try and "shut down" Canadian auto plants would also result in U.S. auto plants shutting down as well and thousands of Americans losing their jobs. Dude has completely lost the plot.

I was worried that Ford's move would send Trump into a rage and I was right. Perhaps he should remove that surcharge? Do we back down from the bully on this one thing? I don't know anymore. With him declaring a "national emergency" in that region and to "do what has to be done", this is making me feel like we're days away from U.S. tanks rolling across the Ontario border. Trump is obviously a complete dumbass who still doesn't seem to know how tariffs really work. But this is legit starting to get scary now.

I had a conversation with someone recently who said they would be open to holding a vote - along the the lines of a referendum - to become the 51st state. They just don't want be forced into it by annexation.

F### my life.
