We already have a national team representing Canada. They wear a maple leaf on their jersey.

Private first class chartered flight must of been hell. That hour and a half must have been just brutal.

Yeah the point is the other team got in earlier and might have a rest/schedule advantage not that anyone is worried about the wellbeing of the players

I'm a little disappointed in MacKinnon so far.Thought he'd make more of an impact.

What a game. Hilarious people were hating on this tournament and comparing it to an all star game before it even started. I hope we never see an all star game again and similar style tournaments fill in the years between Olympics and World Cups.
Don’t want to read much into a tight defensive game that could have gone either way but there are concerns for Canada. Starting to question some of the selections and think the talent should be more distributed across 4 lines.

I love the fans who are dismissing something as significant as the travel delays from a routine perspective. It does happen and it can have an impact without a doubt. NHL athletes and other pro sports teams are beyond creatures of habit. The length that these teams/players/leagues go to is shocking. NFL teams literally bring the players preferred ass wipe to Europe in order to avoid issues amongst other details.
Enough NHL players stick to the same routine where they eat the exact same meal every day/game. Process that. The exact same meal. Getting into bed @ 6 am with a scheduled practice day matters.
All this said, I did some quick research and I couldn't see where the team charter actually landed that late. Presumably it took off Sunday morning (1 /2 am?) Nothing on the flight logs do I see anything like that for Boston area airports.

I heard it on NHL radio on Sirius, that's all I got.

It's been quoted a few times already for sure and I believe it, I just can't confirm it with these flight logs

Not sure curves but thanks for checking those logs.
More than anything I was just trying to change the subject.

I’d set his target as McAvoy. Set the launch sequence at 5 seconds and enjoy the ride.

Yeah you could tell that from Hagel's interview. "I wasn't going to back down from THAT guy" Decent tilt, all were close except JT and Parayko. Although Parayko hardly fights at all. I was a proud Canadian watching that opening and the entire game. Didn't win, but did the country proud in their effort.

The Summit series is still held up as one of the most culturally significant moments in Canadian history and that was because of politics.

I don't see how you can discuss these 2 teams and not bring outside factors into the discussion.
|
Exactly. It's the main story and that's okay. It's silly to try to suppress things like that because you see sports and politics as sperate. You can say you want sports and politics to be separate, but you don't get to proclaim them separate.
There's way more nuance to it than that and in this case they are heavily intertwined due to very important, frightening things being threated against our country right now. Suck it up and either hear about or don't read or scroll over discussion right now? Yo don't need to a be a bitch over it, it takes seconds to scroll over things you don't want to read. Don't try to be an Elon Musk and control discussion.

My bad. I misinterpreted the tweet. I thought it was making fun of Bouchard giving Oilers fans flashbacks of him doing boneheaded things.
