Wayne Gretzky is also of Ukranian descent and has spoken out against the War in Ukraine on multiple occasions. He was also in support of banning Russia from international tournaments. Maybe the primary reason he supported Trump was because Gretzky believed it would help in ending that War? I'm not defending Trump, but the Democrats were doing nothing to help end that War... Trump promised that he would take action.

Lol, Trump's plan to "end the war" is Ukraine gives up and Russia keeps all territory taken. I notice the people who dont want politics in their hockey are also the ones with zero understanding of what is actually going on. Honestly it must be nice.

The fans are mad that the US President is threatening their country. The US players are salty that their anthem is being booed in protest. As a result it has really invigorated the rivalry.

I don't see how you can discuss these 2 teams and not bring outside factors into the discussion.
