Frank noted it was a "down" year for Farabee last season and he netted 22 goals.
Hell. Yeah.

Kuz was gone anyways and invisible until the last three games.
Pelts was 0.3 ppg in the nhl (but likely will improve).
Farabee and Frost are 0.5 ppg players and also young still, and Flames get their center depth in the process.
Flames had lot of a picks in the first three rounds, dealing from a position of strength there.
Not too shabby. Tidy bit of asset management.
Feels like frost has been Flames bound for 3-5 years.

I’m trying to remember the statistics Pinder was throwing around a couple of years ago. How many second round picks actually make it to the NHL I think he said it was something like 40% and how many of those actually end up being top six players… I think it was maybe in the 15% range.

My two favourite teams are the Flyers and Flames. I see it from Briere's point right now, the money doesn't matter for this year. Next year Farabee and Frost are going to make $8-9M combined and Pelletier with make $1M. He cleared up $7-8 for next year because he won't resign Kuzy.
Good deal for the Flames and Briere moves some money out because lets be honest the Flyers are competing any time soon (hate to say that but it's true),
Conroy did a great job.

I think we’ve sold him short. Admit I’ve only seen him live a couple of times, but both nights he was noticeable in good ways. Guy has basically been a point per game player in the athletic from day one, and from my perspective he has been solid in the league. In an environment where they are truly building from youth I would expect him to thrive.
As for the quality of what the Flames are receiving, these are guys with a few seasons in the league so there is a book on them. I think the return speaks to the content of that book.

In the past offseason I believe most people would have said it would have taken at least a 1st for Farabee coming off a 50 point season, and a 2nd for Frost.
So getting both for what's really Pelletier, a cap dump UFA, a 2nd and 7th is tidy work even if you just want to rebuild

Conroy just made the Flames a very deep team up front. And he managed to keep Honzek, Gridin, Basha, Suniev, Battaglia plus 4 firsts and 2 2nds and 3 thirds over the next two seasons. Perfect rebuilding trade.

I will really miss Pelletier, and I bet he becomes a good NHL'er. However, that's a good deal. Young players with potential still unmet.
I do worry how they fit in, but as of right now, you can't help but like this trade.

I don't understand. Really simplified, but essentially: paragraph 1 - Pelletier is going to be quite good, paragraph 2 - guys flames got not so good, I mean look what we gave up?
