Isn’t it a moot point anyway? He got 8 because it’s his fourth ejection and second suspension in 22 career games, not because that particular hit warranted 8.

1) He wasn’t in a vulnerable position at all, he was pinned up against the boards. If he was 2-3 feet away from the boards at the time of contact then yes it would be a vulnerable position. This isnt it homie.

2) Hits in the back like this (minus the elbow) happen every game, this is nothing new and typically a play that doesn’t get suspended.

3) I still agree with you about the elbow, so I’m not sure what your point is or who you are talking to. I agree with you and somehow you struggle to understand that lol.

4) I’ll have to check the rule book for a face into glass penalty, is it a minor or double minor? Haven’t seen that one called before. This point lacks critical thinking too.
Laying up means slowing down and not putting force into the check. You don't have to keep taking strides right into the boards, in order to not be laying up. Here's a clip YOU posted, to show a dangerous hit... was Wahlstrom laying up? No, he was preparing himself to throw a hit.

Also, your aggressive responses are ridiculous - gear down and stop being a such a twat.

Rempe does stop taking strides. He also approaches Heskainen with his knees bent and then stands up into the hit. Rempe is also already moving pretty quickly when he stops taking strides. Don't know how that possibly fits the definition of "laying up".

Well, he could have straight up murdered him. So I guess, by the metric of "neck isn't broken", Rempe did lay up.

*I DO think it's idiotic the way Heiskenen is facing the boards. It's not an excuse to cheap shot someone, but do a little defensive driving out there.

Pretty cool comment man, I really enjoy being called a twat by some drive by comment from someone not even actively part of the discussion. Hopefully this gets looked at, as this was completely out of line.

Merry Christmas

I have seen Messier done 100x worse but this is the new NHL

On one hand, Rempe was probably told it’s his only game in the NHL, on the other hand he has no business in the NHL. Tough being him.

Maybe take a moment for self reflection and recognize that you went on the offensive with your snide comments about lack of critical thinking and smooth brains. You see the play differently, that’s fine, it doesn’t mean everyone who sees it the other way is inferior or stupider than you.

Merry Christmas!

As crazy as it may be if the Ranger's don't re-up Rempe there will be more than a few teams willing to offer him a one way contract. He's 22 and over time will learn to reign it in a bit.

Oh yeah, he has to play this right and just set himself up for life. He can't really keep up with NHL hockey other than being freakishly tall and wreaking havoc. Just try to sign a multi-year deal for like $1.2-17mil AAV and give your self $5mil NHL earnings and be on your way.

Hockey culture needs to change so guys like Rempe don’t have jobs unless they can play the game.

Hes hurting players and he can’t fight and will get hurt. You hear about the stories a bunch of guys doing stuff because it’s the only way they stay up.

Nah man doesn’t really matter, I explained later why it was a smooth brain opinion that lacked critical thinking. I put effort in to show that it was a very poor take. His drive by comment was over the top and unacceptable. I know if I called someone a twat I would be on the sidelines for a week off. Different rules I guess.

Happy holidays

In my books, to call someone a twat implies that they're unpleasant and obnoxious. To call them smooth-brained implies that they're physically subhuman. The latter is a hell of a lot worse.

Happy Boxing Day, or palatable Kwanzaa, or whatever we're on now.
